Suramin has been found to correct the symptoms, metabolism, and brain synaptic abnormalities in two classical genetic and environmental mouse models of autism. A preliminary clinical trial (SAT-1) examined the safety and activity of a single low-dose of suramin in children with ASD and concluded suramin showed promise as a novel approach to treatment of ASD. The current study, STAT-2A, will be a randomized, double-blind, crossover, 30-week study to evaluate the preliminary proof of concept, safety, and PK of suramin sodium (KZ101) with repeat dosing by IV infusion in males 5-14 years of age who have been diagnosed with ASD. The study will be conducted at approximately 3 sites contributing approximately 15 subjects per site. Background: Neurofibromatosis 1 (NF1) is a disease that causes tumors to grow along the nerves. These include plexiform neurofibromas (pNF) and cutaneous neurofibromas (cNF). Both pNF and cNF can be visible to other people. These tumors can affect a person s appearance and quality of life. Researchers want to be able to assess changes in appearance before and after treatment for NF1 tumors. Objective: To see if two questionnaires can help assess people s ratings about the appearance of their pNF and cNF tumors. Eligibility: People aged 8 years and older with pNF and people 12 years and older either with cNF or both pNF and cNF. Adult caregivers of children with pNF and cNF are also needed. Design: Participants will complete questionnaires on paper or by phone, computer, or tablet. They will answer questions about how they look, how they feel, and how they feel about the way they look. Participants will meet in at least 1 remote focus group or individual interview. The meeting will last about 1 hour. Each group will include 3 to 5 people, organized by age: 8 to 11 years, 12 to 17 years, 18 to 29 years, and over 30 years. Adult caregivers will meet in a group with other caregivers. They will discuss their NF1 symptoms; how their tumors look; how they feel about the way their tumors look; and their daily activities. They will give their opinions about 2 questionnaires about appearance. The group and individual meetings will be audio-recorded and transcribed. Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD) are common and debilitating conditions. Financial hardship, a multidimensional construct of financial strain, financial stress and asset depletion, is common in AD/ADRD due to exorbitant out-of-pocket spending such as for long-term care, lower work productivity and income for their caregivers that can last for decades after disease onset, and difficulty deciding between nursing home care or home-based care while negotiating insurance coverage. People from historically marginalized groups can experience a double disparity with fewer financial resources to manage AD/ADRD and a greater risk of AD/ADRD. Screening for financial hardship in AD/ADRD is key for addressing the needs of patients and caregivers but critical barriers include a lack of suitable screening measures. Current measures are very general and meant for people without chronic medical conditions or are specific to other diseases. To fill this gap, this study will create a suite of measures that can screen for financial hardship in people with AD/ADRD and their families and caregivers. The measures will include a set to assess caregiver burden; a set to assess patient hardship as reported by the caregiver for patients who cannot report for themselves; and a set of patient-reported measures for patients that are able to report for themselves. To create these financial hardship screening measures, the project will conduct the following aims. Aim 1- Develop financial hardship screening measures for Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias: Using interviews with both caregivers and people with AD/ADRD, key indicators of financial hardship that are unique to AD/ADRD and the point in the lifespan in which it occurs will be identified. The ways that social and caregiver network size affect financial hardship will also be explored. Using the interviews and previous measures, preliminary measures will be created and will be reviewed by experts and a patient and caregiver advisory board. Aim 2- Create item response theory-based screening measures for financial hardship measures in Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias: Large samples of people with AD/ADRD (n=1000) and caregivers (n=1000) will be surveyed and item response theory will be used to evaluate and revise the measures and create scoring algorithms. A sample of additional caregivers matched to primary caregivers (n=400) will also be recruited to evaluate interrater reliability of the measures. Aim 3- Evaluate the financial hardship measures across patient and caregiver populations: Using the sample from Aim 2 and item response theory, we will evaluate the financial hardship screening measures across the following groups to ensure they are unbiased and reflect true differences: race/ethnicity; patient comorbidities; stage of AD/ADRD; caregiver relationship; social network size; number of caregivers; financial support provided; and caregiver's own health status (disability, comorbidities). PRISMA, is a pregnancy registry study, focused on comprehensively collecting information about pregnancy in women with chronic neurological conditions from across the United States and internationally. Depending on their specific condition (MS, CIS, NMOSD, or other) and their specific treatment, participants will be asked to contribute to different aspects of the study. (1) The biosamples will be blood, breast milk, infant stool, maternal stool and vaginal swab samples, collected at specific time points. (2) The online surveys will be collected at specific time points. All study activities will be discussed with participants upon enrollment. By collecting this information, the investigators hope to gain deeper insights into the relationship between pregnancy, the neurological condition, and maternal and infant health. For example, one of the sub-studies focuses on breast milk collection for women planning postpartum treatment with Ocrevus, Rituxan, Briumvi or Kesimpta. This study is fully remote and all sample collection is optional, so participants can choose which types of samples they wish to provide. For blood draws, participants can schedule a home visit through ExamOne, making participation even more convenient. The ability of smart phones, aided by wearable devices (e.g. smart watches), to collect a variety of data, including physical activity, heart rate, and other exercise metrics, may provide a unique opportunity to understand real-world variability. The primary objective of this study is to test user engagement, app functionality, and feasibility of the newly developed Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI) Labs App to conduct Real-World research studies. The secondary purpose of this study is to determine if Training Intensity (%Heart Rate maximum) in minutes during low heart rate variability (HRV) periods (below HRV baseline consecutive days) will have a negative relationship with post-study 5K (5 kilometer) running times as measured by their activity tracker, which could lead to personalized training recommendations using HRV. The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if a cervical ripening balloon (Foley balloon) works to prepare the cervix before same-day outpatient dilation and evacuation (D\&E). The main questions it aims to answer are: * Is cervical preparation with cervical ripening balloon for same-day outpatient D\&E non-inferior to cervical preparation with osmotic dilators? * How feasible and safe is cervical preparation with cervical ripening balloon for same-day outpatient D\&E? * How acceptable is cervical preparation with cervical ripening balloon for same-day outpatient D\&E? This study is being done to test blood, urine and tissue samples to see if this can help decide if CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease), AR (Acute Rejection) and HCV (Hepatitis C Virus) can be identified in its early stages. CKD damage to the kidneys, AR and HCV all lower the body's ability to function properly. Liposorber® LA-15 System is a blood purification therapy that selectively removes malignant lipoproteins including low density lipoprotein from circulating blood flow and rapidly reduces the plasma cholesterol level. The system was originally developed for the treatment of patients with serious dyslipidemia such as familial hypercholesterolemia and then applied to improve the dyslipidemia, a common complication of nephrotic syndrome and found to bring about improvement not only with the dyslipidemic condition but the nephrotic condition (e.g, proteinuria and hypoproteinemia). Although the definitive mechanism by which the system may relieve nephrotic syndrome is unknown, it has been recognized as one of alternative therapies for refractory nephrotic syndrome including focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) in Japan and referred in the Guidelines for the Treatment of Nephrotic Syndrome endorsed by The Japanese Society of Nephrology.
