The Efficacy of a Smart Phone-based Test on Measuring Pupillary Light Reflex Alterations Following Cannabis Use Healthy in Adults
Recruiting
The goal of this open label study is to evaluate the efficacy of smart phone-based test (SOBEREYE OPTOVERA) on measuring pupillary light reflex (PLR) alterations following cannabis use healthy in adults. The main question it aims to answer is: Can SOBEREYE OPTOVERA detect PLR alterations following cannabis consumption in healthy adults, in comparison to a pupillometer? Participants will be given two 5 mg capsules to be ingested for the 10 mg THC dose or five 5 mg capsules to be ingested for th... Read More

Adapting and Piloting Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for Severe Premenstrual Mood Symptoms
Recruiting
In the weeks prior to menstruation, many individuals experience mood and physical symptoms that negatively impact their quality of life and functioning. Approximately 5% of women and menstruating individuals have such severe symptoms that they meet criteria for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). Further, of those with underlying mood disorders (i.e., depression, bipolar disorder) about 60% have cyclical worsening of symptoms classified as premenstrual exacerbation (PME). Both PMDD and PME a... Read More

Pediatric Influence of Cooling Duration on Efficacy in Cardiac Arrest Patients (P-ICECAP)
Recruiting
This is a multicenter trial to establish the efficacy of cooling and the optimal duration of induced hypothermia for neuroprotection in pediatric comatose survivors of cardiac arrest. The study team hypothesizes that longer durations of cooling may improve either the proportion of children that attain a good neurobehavioral recovery or may result in better recovery among the proportion already categorized as having a good outcome.

Testing the Addition of the Chemotherapy Drug Lomustine (Gleostine) to the Usual Treatment (Temozolomide and Radiation Therapy) for Newly Diagnosed MGMT Methylated Glioblastoma
Recruiting
This phase III trial compares the effect of adding lomustine to standard chemotherapy with temozolomide and radiation therapy versus temozolomide and radiation therapy alone in shrinking or stabilizing newly diagnosed MGMT methylated glioblastoma. MGMT methylated tumors are more likely to respond to temozolomide chemotherapy. Temozolomide is in a class of medications called alkylating agents. It works by damaging the cell's DNA and may kill tumor cells and slow down or stop tumor growth. Lomusti... Read More

Benralizumab Airway Remodeling Study in Severe Eosinophilic Asthmatics
Recruiting
The purpose of the study is to evaluate effect of benralizumab on structural and lung function changes in severe eosinophilic asthmatics. Changes will be assessed over 48 week treatment period in patients with persistent symptoms despite standard therapy of inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) plus long acting B2-agonist (LABA) with or without additional controller medication. Patients who complete treatment will enter 4 weeks follow-up period.

A Research Study Looking at Long-term Treatment With Etavopivat in People With Sickle Cell Disease or Thalassaemia
Recruiting
Etavopivat is a new medicine under development for treating blood disorders like sickle cell disease and thalassaemia. Sickle cell disease and thalassaemia are inherited blood disorders that affect haemoglobin. Haemoglobin is the protein that carries oxygen through the body. This study is looking into how safe treatment with etavopivat is and how well it works over a long period of time. The study will last for up to 264 weeks, but it will end earlier if etavopivat is approved in the participant... Read More

Comparing the Addition of Radiation Either Before or After Surgery for Patients With Brain Metastases
Recruiting
This phase III trial compares the usual treatment of surgery after stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) to receiving SRS before surgery in treating patients with cancer that has spread to the brain (brain metastases). Stereotactic radiosurgery is a type of radiation therapy that delivers a high dose of radiation to target tumors and minimizes effect on normal surrounding brain tissue. The combination of surgery and radiation may stop the tumor from growing for a few months or longer and may reduce sy... Read More

Evaluation of the Optilume BPH Catheter System and the Rezum Water Vapor Therapy in Treating Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
Recruiting
Lower urinary symptoms (LUTS) affect older men and their frequency and severity increase with age. According to Berry et al., the histological diagnosis of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) increases from 25% in the group age between 40 to 49 years to 80% in the group age between 70 to 79 years (1). However, this hyperplasia can lead to a bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) secondary to benign prostatic enlargement (BPE), causing storage and voiding symptoms, associated with a considerable impairm...
