The state of California currently has 36 active clinical trials seeking participants for Osteoarthritis research studies. These trials are conducted in various cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Sacramento.
Innovations in Genicular Outcomes Registry
Recruiting
The registry will capture prospective data on patients receiving pain management for chronic pain due to knee osteoarthritis (OA) or pain optimization for knee arthroplasty due to knee OA. The OA pain therapies may include cryo nerve block, radiofrequency ablation (RFA), intra-articular (IA) corticosteroids, viscosupplementation, opioids, and others (e.g., non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs [NSAIDs]).

Patient Observational Pain and Activity Survey (POPAS) Study Using RS-4i Sequential Stimulator With Intersperse Technology in Axial Spine and Peripheral Joint Pain
Recruiting
Spine pain and joint pain are among the most common worldwide ailments and directly contributes to disability as well as increased duration of care. Spine and joint pain affect work sick leave, production and increased financial costs to healthcare. Non-invasive treatments for spine and joint pain can vary widely from lifestyle changes, physical therapy, oral medication, and select medical devices, that can improve pain level and help improve the quality of life of individuals. Thus, the general... Read More

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy in Thumb CMC Arthritis
Recruiting
Long-Term Objective: Determine if high-frequency PEMF therapy reduces pain in patients with thumb carpometacarpal (CMC) joint osteoarthritis (OA). Study Design and Methods: This will be a randomized controlled pilot study with 60 subjects with CMC OA randomly divided in two groups. Thirty subjects will receive high-frequency PEMF therapy overlying the CMC joint overnight daily for four weeks. The other 30 subjects will receive a sham PEMF therapy device applied to the same joint overnight daily... Read More

Use of Allograft Adipose Matrix for Small Joint Arthritis of the Hand
Recruiting
The purpose the research is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of injection of adipose allograft matrix (AAM) to the small joints of the hand for treatment of early stage osteoarthritis. The hypothesis is that use of AAM injected directly into the joint will show improvements in pain and disability while providing a safe, off-the-shelf alternative which can obviate the need for, and risks associated with, current treatment options with autologous fat transfer. As standard of care, routine stre... Read More

Recruiting
Knee osteoarthritis is a debilitating disease that can cause severe knee pain and significant limitations to patients' activities of daily living. Total knee arthroplasty (TKA), also known as knee replacement surgery, is a well-established and successful procedure for treatment of end-stage knee osteoarthritis. Over the years, TKA surgical techniques and implant technology have improved, resulting in better patient outcomes and implant survivorship. Despite continuous improvements being made to... Read More

The KinematX Midcarpal Total Wrist Arthroplasty Registry
Recruiting
The goal of this observational study is to learn about functional and patient reported outcomes in patient undergoing total wrist replacement with the KinematX total wrist replacement study. The main questions it aims to answer are: What is the range of motion (flexion, extension, radial, ulnar, grip and pinch strength) at 3-, 6-, and 12-months after surgery and yearly up to 10 years among patients having total wrist replacement with the KinematX implant. What are the patient reported outcomes... Read More
