A procedure frequently performed by orthopaedic providers is the administration of corticosteroid injections for the management of various soft tissues and joint-related conditions, such as osteoarthritis, tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, and de Quervain's tenosynovitis. While these injections have demonstrated effectiveness in alleviating symptoms, the discomfort associated with the procedure can be a source of anxiety and apprehension for patients. This study will be a prospective, single-blinded, randomized controlled trial (RCT), investigating the influence of the number of opioid pills prescribed following primary hip arthroscopy. All patients who sign the consent form will be enrolled in the suited and randomized to one of the two treatment arms. The intervention group will receive 5 Norco pills, gabapentin (30 mg, once daily for 10 days following surgery), and Tylenol (1000 mg, three times daily for 10 days following surgery) while the control will receive the standard at our practice of 30 Norco pills. The goal of this randomized double blind three way (1:1:1) cross over clinical trial is to evaluate the effectiveness and duration of analgesia of a single infusion of (2R,6R)-HNK 0.5mg/kg compared with ketamine 0.5mg/kg and saline with a 5-week interval between treatments on pain, pain qualities, physical function, pain interference, sleep disturbance and quality of life in subjects with neuropathic pain of the extremities. The questions that this study will address are: 1. What is the analgesic efficacy of (2R,6R)-HNK on pain intensity and pain qualities in patients with chronic (\>3 month) neuropathic pain (NP). 2. What will be the effective duration of a single infusion of (2R,6R)-HNK in patients with NP. 3. Will (2R,6R)-HNK reduce pain related effects including interference in daily activities of life, sleep disturbances and change the qualities of pain reported by patients. Participants will receive each of the three study drugs in a random order at 5-week intervals over a 15 week period. The drug will be administered as a 45-minute infusion. Participants will complete quantitative sensory and pain evaluations and complete patient reported pain outcomes prior to receiving the first study drug and at 7, 14 and 21 and 35 days following study drug administration. This study seeks to evaluate the use of intermittent dosing as an alternative paradigm for patients with DRG stimulation in place for at least 1 year and minimum 50% pain relief in the targeted area. Patients will be prospectively randomized to one of two stimulation paradigms both of which involve intermittent dosing at 30 seconds ON and 90 seconds OFF. Group 1 will have their frequency set at 20 Hz with amplitude levels adjusted in order to remain in the therapeutic window (subthreshold stimulation). Group 2 will have their frequency set at 5 Hz with amplitude levels adjusted in order to remain in the therapeutic window (subthreshold stimulation) This study will be performed in a crossover fashion, meaning patients will be changed to the alternate dosing regimen at the 13-week time period. Patients will be seen and evaluated prior to randomization and reprogramming, and thereafter evaluated at 4, 8, and 12-weeks. At the 12-week time period, patients will begin a 1-week washout period of continuous stimulation. At the 13-week time period, patients will be evaluated, crossed over to the other study arm and thereafter evaluated at 17, 21, and 25-weeks. Read Less

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if NSAIDs (i.e. naproxen sodium) can treat menstrual pain and prevent the development of chronic pelvic pain in menstruating adults with painful periods. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Can non-menstrual pelvic pain reduction be predicted by menstrual pain response to NSAIDs? * Will participants with the largest reductions in multi-site sensitivity following NSAID therapy have the largest reductions in non-menstrual pelvic pain? Researchers will compare naproxen sodium to a placebo (a look-alike substance that contains no drug) to see if naproxen sodium works to treat painful periods. Participants will: * Take naproxen sodium or placebo during several days of their menstrual period every month for 1 year. * Complete computer questionnaires and tests from home every 3 months. * Complete at-home urine tests to measure hormones every few days for 1-year. * Use a pin-prick to collect a small spot of blood, and use a pad or tampon to collect a sample of menstrual blood, and bring it to the research site twice over a 1-year period. * Come to the research site twice over a 1-year period to complete sensory assessments and undergo a blood draw. The main goal of this clinical trial is to test benefits of completing online pain coping skills training program in women who have been diagnosed with stage I-III breast cancer, who have completed their primary cancer treatment, who are taking an AI medication, and who have arthralgia. Arthralgia is a type of joint, bone, and muscle pain that is a common side effect of AI medications. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Whether online pain coping skills training reduces the severity of pain and the interference it causes in women's daily lives. 2. Whether online pain coping skills training improves emotional distress, quality of life, and adherence to AI medications. 3. Whether benefits of online pain coping skills training are at least partially caused by women's increased confidence that they can manage their pain and a reduction in unhelpful thinking patterns about pain. 4. Whether online pain coping skills training improves effects of AI medications on sleep problems and symptoms of menopause like hot flashes and night sweats. Participants can complete all parts of the study at home. They will: 1. Complete four sets of questionnaires throughout the study, which will take about 9 to 10 months. 2. Attend 3 meetings in the first month of the study, all of which can be held via a video conference. 3. Use an electronic pill bottle to track their use of their AI medication. 4. Be randomized (like flipping a coin) to one of two study arms: They will either receive education about AIs and arthralgia or they will receive this education along with access to an online pain coping skills training program. Research will compare the education group to the education plus online pain coping skills training group to see if online pain coping skills training has the benefits mentioned above. Read Less
