PTSD is common among Veterans with serious mental illness (SMI). Co-occurring PTSD and SMI lead to poorer mental health and physical functioning than either diagnosis alone. Despite known high prevalence rates of PTSD in SMI populations as well as disparities in prevalence and treatment use for Black, Indigenous, and other people of color (BIPOC), little research has been done to: a) evaluate leading treatments for PTSD in individuals with SMI, and b) develop culturally responsive methods to integrate with PTSD treatments for SMI Veterans. This study aims to address research and clinical gaps by: a) testing the feasibility and acceptability of Written Exposure Therapy (WET), a VA evidence-based psychotherapy for PTSD in Veterans with SMI, and b) incorporating culturally responsive assessment methods. Results from this study will inform whether WET and culturally responsive assessment are feasible to implement, acceptable to Veterans with SMI, and worth examining in standard or optimized form in a larger clinical trial. The purpose of this study is to advance upper limb robot-mediated tele-rehabilitation for patients recovering from stroke by empowering them through active science participation. By varying the tasks' features and affordances of a platform that combines a low-cost haptic device on one hand, and an online citizen science platform on the other, investigators will evaluate different strategies for social telerehabilitation. the two fundamental modes of social interaction - competition and cooperation - in addition to a control condition. Specifically, citizen science activities will be performed by competing, cooperating, or isolated users, and their rehabilitation effectiveness examined. Such effectiveness will be measured by (i) participants' rehabilitation performance (inferred from sensorimotor data acquired through the platform and directly quantified by a supervising therapist); (ii) participants' motivations to contribute (measured through surveys administered online); and (iii) participants' emotional well-being and sense of self-esteem (measured through online surveys). Surgical implantation of Lyopreserved Placental Tissue (LPT) is FDA approved and has been used extensively in wound care. The use is expanding and more recently, LPT has been used in the management of diabetic foot ulcers, acute and chronic surgical wounds, various fistulas and even as a nerve wrap on the common peroneal nerve. Surgical technique for nerve-sparing prostatectomy has evolved continuously since first described by Walsh in 1982 and is now commonly performed with robotic assistance. The investigators intend to study whether placement of LPT over the spared neurovascular bundle during nerve-sparing robotic prostatectomy will improve return to potency and/or continence after robotic radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer. Patients with a preoperative Sexual Health Inventory for Men (SHIM) score \> 19 (moderate or high pre-op sexual function) planning to undergo robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy will be randomized to receive direct placement of LPT over the preserved neurovascular bundles vs standard of care. Patients will independently report erectile function and continence at 1 months, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year after surgery. Primary outcomes would include mean time to achieve potency, percentage of group achieving potency at each time point, and mean change in SHIM score. This observational study is being done to understand why people with scleroderma can develop pulmonary arterial hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs, abbreviated PAH) and a weak heart muscle (heart failure). The study will also help the investigators understand why people with PAH from an unknown cause (called idiopathic PAH, or IPAH) can also develop a weakened heart muscle. The response of the right side of the heart or right ventricle (RV) to standard PAH therapy in scleroderma-associated PAH and in IPAH will be assessed. Blood and tissue samples will be collected from research participants during participants' normal standard of care procedures. People with scleroderma-associated PAH or idiopathic cause (IPAH) who need a right heart catheterization may join this study. Read Less
