The aim of this clinical trial is to evaluate the efficacy of tesamorelin as a therapy for peripheral nerve injuries. The investigators hypothesize that treatment with tesamorelin will result in faster and more substantial recovery of motor and sensory function following surgical repair of injured peripheral nerves. Patients with upper extremity nerve injuries will be randomly assigned to receive either tesamorelin treatment or no treatment. Assessments for nerve regeneration, muscle function, and sensation will be conducted every three months for a total of 12 months. Outcomes in patients receiving tesamorelin will be compared to those in the untreated group to determine the effectiveness of tesamorelin as a therapeutic intervention for nerve injuries. Read Less

This study will evaluate the efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics (PDy) of novel immunotherapy combinations compared with immunotherapy monotherapy in participants with Programmed death ligand-1 (PD L-1) high (Tumor cells \[TC\]/ Tumor proportion score \[TPS\] \>= 50%), previously untreated, unresectable, locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The goal of this study is to learn about the role of estrogen and other hormones in bone development in adolescent and young adult women with cystic fibrosis (CF). The study has two main components, an observational study and a feasibility sub-study. The main questions it aims to answer are: * How do different forms of hormonal contraception (e.g. birth control pill or other progesterone only methods) impact bone health? * Is a study of transdermal estradiol (estrogen skin patches) feasible in this group? * How does transdermal estradiol impact bone health and quality of life? Participants in the observational study will have three study visits (baseline, 6 months, and 12 months). At all visits, participants will have blood drawn and will complete questionnaires. At the baseline and 12 month visits, participants will additionally have x-rays and DXAs (bone density assessment). Between visits, participants will complete brief questionnaires. Researchers will compare various measurements over time to assess the impact of different forms of hormonal contraception. Participants in the feasibility sub-study will apply transdermal estradiol patches once weekly for 12 months, fill out brief quality-of-life surveys in between study visits, and complete blood draws and questionnaires at four study visits (baseline, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months). The participants will also have x-rays and DXAs performed at the baseline and 12 month visits. The goal of this clinical trial is to find out which approach works better in getting more of the friends and connections of Latino adults get vaccinated against COVID-19. The main questions this study aims to answer are: 1. Can teaching people to use motivational interviewing help more friends and connections of Latino adults get the COVID-19 vaccine compared to just giving information about the vaccine? 2. What are the things that make it easier or harder for Latinos and networks to get the COVID-19 vaccine? 3. How does this intervention work in practice so that it can be made available to more people in the future The researchers will compare the vaccine rates of the friends and connections of Latinos who have been trained in motivational interviewing with those who have only been given information about the COVID-19 vaccine. Cannabidiol is a compound found in cannabis plants that is well tolerated, has low abuse liability, and might be an effective medication to promote tobacco cessation. This clinical study will use a validated approach for screening tobacco cessation medications to determine if oral cannabidiol increases short-term tobacco abstinence, and evaluate mechanisms that might explain how cannabidiol alters smoking behavior. This study compares the efficacy of Tamibarotene in combination with azacitidine to azacitidine in combination with placebo in participants who are Retinoic Acid Receptor Alpha (RARA) positive, and newly diagnosed with higher-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (HR-MDS), and who have not received treatment for this diagnosis. There are no FDA approved treatments for use in adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), many of whom have distressing anxiety, mood disturbances, sleep problems, and agitation. Some researchers and individuals with ASD have noted that cannabidiol (CBD) is beneficial for those psychiatric problems. This study is to learn more about the effectiveness and safety of CBD in the treatment of psychiatric problems in adults with ASD. The study will last 14 weeks total, during which six weeks participants will receive a pill containing CBD, two weeks where participants will receive no drug/placebo, and six weeks where participants will receive the placebo, an inactive pill. As part of the study, participants will have regular visits and be asked questions about anxiety, challenging behaviors, daily functioning, cognition, and physical symptoms, on standard assessments. The study will enroll recurrent aseptic pleural effusion patients who are designated by their physician as needing treatment to control the fluid. Baseline assessment will include a history and physical, chest imaging and quality of life questionnaires.
