There are currently 38 active clinical trials seeking participants for Fatigue research studies. The states with the highest number of trials for Autism participants are Illinois, Ohio, Michigan and California.
Patient-Centered Assessment of Symptoms and Outcomes
Recruiting
Background: The cause of fatigue is not well understood. It can be felt differently by different people. Some people think there are different types of fatigue, with different causes. Researchers think a therapy to treat one type of fatigue in one condition should be able to treat that type of fatigue in other conditions. Objective: To understand the types of fatigue. Eligibility: Adults 18 and older who have felt fatigue for more than a month, and non-fatigued adults Design: Participants... Read More

A Trial of a Positive Psychology Intervention for Older Adults (RESET) During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Recruiting
The heightened vulnerability to COVID-19 of African American older adults in Detroit, Michigan and other marginalized communities is linked to systemic racism experienced over the life course. Structural inequities also magnify the pandemic's impact on older adults' physical and psychosocial functioning. Many older adults in Detroit, burdened by poor health even before the pandemic, face a downward spiral of increased distress, reduced physical and social activity, and physical deconditioning. R... MitoQ for Fatigue in Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to determine whether MS patients who receive Oral mitoquinone (MitoQ) have less fatigue than those receiving a placebo. A comparison between patient's fatigue scored at baseline and fatigue scored 12 weeks after drug initiation will assess if MitoQ has a significant change in fatigue.

Combination Therapy for Treatment of Sleep Disturbance in Patients With Advanced Cancer
Recruiting
To learn if Cognitive Behavior Therapy (called CBT), combined with either Bright Light Therapy (called BLT), methylphenidate, and/or melatonin, can help improve sleep and other related symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, and depression in cancer patients. This is an investigational study. In this study, BLT, Methylphenidate and Melatonin will be compared to their placebos.

Characterizing Fatigue Experienced by Cancer Patients Receiving Primary Treatment and Cancer Survivors
Recruiting
Background: - Fatigue is a common side effect of cancer and its treatment. Up to 96% of patients with cancer have fatigue. The cause of fatigue in people with cancer or those receiving treatment is poorly understood, making fatigue hard to treat. More research is necessary to understand why cancer patients experience fatigue. Previous research has shown that fatigue may be caused by a number of factors, including problems with the immune system response of the body while undergoing cancer treat... Read More

A Proof-of-Concept Trial on the Effect of Ketamine on Fatigue
Recruiting
Background: Many people experience fatigue as a side effect of their illnesses and treatments. There are no medicines to treat fatigue, but a drug called ketamine has reduced fatigue in depressed people. Researchers hope that ketamine, compared to a drug called midazolam, can reduce fatigue in people with illnesses. Objective: To test whether ketamine reduces fatigue in cancer survivors and people with chronic illness. Eligibility: Adults between the ages of 18 and 70 who have fatigue and a... Read More

Behavioral and Neural Representations of Subjective Effort Cost
Recruiting
The goal of this proposal is to understand the common and distinct behavioral and neural representations of subjective effort valuation, and how these representations are influenced by fatigue and changes in motivation. It is hypothesized that the brain will use overlapping and distinct neural circuits to represent cognitive and physical effort value, and that fatigue and enhanced motivation will influence the subjective value of effort.

Neural and Cognitive Consequences of COVID-19 Survival
Recruiting
The novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 infection, COVID, continues to rage throughout the world with 115,000,000 confirmed cases and over 2,500,000 deaths (as of Mar 3, 2021). This translates to millions of people surviving COVID19 infection. While the lungs are ground zero, COVID tears through organ systems from brain to blood vessels. We are now beginning to see people recover but complain of ongoing problems, including lingering cognitive problems, depression, and anxiety. We have brought together... Read More

Resistance Training +/- Creatine for Metastatic Prostate Cancer Patients
Recruiting
This trial studies how well resistance training with or without creatine monohydrate supplement works in improving body composition and health outcomes in patients with prostate cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Resistance training, with or without creatine monohydrate supplement, may help to improve feelings of tiredness and overall physical function in patients with prostate cancer.
