This is a one-year longitudinal, observational study of 250 urban children and adolescents with asthma and 60 without asthma, ages 6-17 years old. Participants with asthma will require daily controller therapy with inhaled corticosteroids ICS (at least Step 2 therapy). Project 2 Airway Potential Hydrogen (pH) in Asthma

This study is testing a non invasive way to measure airway pH in individuals with Asthma and Cystic Fibrosis using a new inhaled drug. The airway pH will help health care providers in creating tailored treatment plans for individuals suffering from these specific conditions.
