This phase II trial studies how well radiation therapy with or without cisplatin works in treating patients with stage III-IVA squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck who have undergone surgery. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not yet known if radiation therapy is more effective with or without cisplatin in treating patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. Read Less

This phase II/III trial compares the effect of adding chemotherapy before and after surgery versus after surgery alone (usual treatment) in treating patients with stage II-III gallbladder cancer. Chemotherapy drugs, such as gemcitabine and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving chemotherapy before surgery may make the tumor smaller; therefore, may reduce the extent of surgery. Additionally, it may make it easier for the surgeon to distinguish between normal and cancerous tissue. Giving chemotherapy after surgery may kill any remaining tumor cells. This study will determine whether giving chemotherapy before surgery increases the length of time before the cancer may return and whether it will increase a patient's life span compared to the usual approach. This randomized phase III trial studies how well crizotinib works in treating patients with stage IB-IIIA non-small cell lung cancer that has been removed by surgery and has a mutation in a protein called anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK). Mutations, or changes, in ALK can make it very active and important for tumor cell growth and progression. Crizotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the ALK protein from working. Crizotinib may be an effective treatment for patients with non-small cell lung cancer and an ALK fusion mutation. Read Less

Our intent is to establish the International Registry to Improve Outcomes in Men with Advanced Prostate Cancer (IRONMAN) as a prospective, international cohort of minimum 5,000 men with advanced cancer, including men with mHSPC and M0/M1 CRPC. The goal is to establish a population-based registry and recruit patients across academic and community practices from Australia, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Nigeria, Norway, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom (UK), and the United States (US). Target accrual number and number of participating sites are subject to change based on accrual, funding, and interest in participation by other international sites. This cohort study will facilitate a better understanding of the variation in care and treatment of advanced prostate cancer across countries and across academia and community based practices. Detailed data will be collected from patients at study enrollment and then during follow-up, for a minimum of five years. Patients will be followed prospectively for overall survival, clinically significant adverse events, comorbidities, changes in cancer treatments, and PROMs. PROMs questionnaires will be collected at enrollment and every three months thereafter. Physician Questionnaires will be collected from all participating sites at patient enrollment, time of first change in treatment and/or one year follow-up, at each subsequent change of treatment, and discontinuation of treatment. As such, this registry will help identify the treatment sequences or combinations that optimize overall survival and PROMs for men with mHSPC and M0/M1 CRPC. By collecting blood at enrollment, time of first change in treatment and/or one year follow-up (plasma, cell free DNA, buffy coat / RNA), this registry will further identify and validate molecular phenotypes of disease that predict response and resistance to specific therapeutics. Additionally, every effort will be made to collect blood specimen at each subsequent change in treatment due to progression of disease. When feasible, existing tumor tissue may be collected for correlation with described blood based studies. All samples will be used for future research. This is a phase II, open-label, single-arm, multi-center Study conducted in Canada and the United States. Patients with NMIBC CIS (with or without resected papillary disease (Ta, T1)) that are considered Bacillus Calmette-Guerin ("BCG")-Unresponsive or who are intolerant to BCG therapy. BCG-Unresponsive is at least one of the following: At least five of six doses of an initial induction course plus at least two of three doses of maintenance therapy; or, at least five of six doses of an initial induction course plus at least two of six doses of a second induction course. Patients experiencing disease relapse within 12 months after finishing the second course of BCG therapy are considered BCG-Unresponsive. The Study will consist of approximately 100 to 125 patients who will undergo two (2) PDT treatments employing 0.70 mg/cm^2 of Ruvidar® (TLD-1433) at Day 0 and Day 180. Read Less

The objective of this Study is to collect, process, and transfer biologic samples such as blood and/or tissue biopsies to determine the concordance of detected alterations obtained through liquid biopsy analyses compared to next generation sequencing of time-matched or archival tissue specimens from individuals with advanced solid tumors. Examples of locally advanced and metastatic tumors include stage III and IV cancers (ex. lung, breast, all gastrointestinal malignancies, all gynecologic malignancies, prostate cancer, head and neck tumors, soft tissue cancers, and melanoma). These specimens will be analyzed for diagnostic purposes and research (either by Labcorp/OmniSeq or to a third-party recipient designated by Labcorp/OmniSeq). Labcorp/OmniSeq may transfer the specimens and data to its clients, including commercial, academic or non-profit research institutions; or alternatively, may retain the specimens in its repository for future research use at the sole discretion of Labcorp/OmniSeq and or assignees. Labcorp/OmniSeq will maintain all detailed clinical information including demographic data (de-identified), ethnicity, disease state, stage (radiological, pathological and clinical-whichever is relevant). The purpose of this study is to assess how bone density and body composition changes over a cancer patient's treatment via SOZO measurements, DEXA scan (bone density and whole body composition), performance status tests, food log, urine color test, and other study assessments. This phase II Lung-MAP treatment trial tests whether carboplatin and pemetrexed with or without selpercatinib works to shrink tumors in patients with RET fusion-positive non-small cell lung cancer that is stage IV or has not responded to previous RET directed therapy. Chemotherapy drugs, such as carboplatin and pemetrexed, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Selpercatinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving selpercatinib in combination with carboplatin and pemetrexed may help lower the chance of the cancer growing and spreading. Read Less

The Strata Trial (STR-001-001) has been initiated by Strata Oncology to evaluate the clinical benefit of systematic comprehensive genomic profiling for participants with advanced cancer using real-world data and endpoints, while assessing the proportion of participants available for clinical trials and approved targeted therapies in advanced and/or aggressive cancers.
