The state of Texas currently has 884 active clinical trials seeking participants for Cancer research studies. These trials are conducted in various cities, including Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin.
EXActDNA-003 / NSABP B-64: Study of Molecular Residual Disease Detection in Breast Cancer (MRD)
Recruiting
The EXActDNA-003 study will prospectively enroll participants who are planning to undergo chemotherapy for high-risk, early breast cancer, who are willing to provide tissue and blood specimens for circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) analysis. Participants will be followed for up to 5.5 years.

Regional Radiotherapy in Biomarker Low-Risk Node Positive and T3N0 Breast Cancer
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to compare the effects on low risk breast cancer receiving usual care that includes regional radiation therapy, with receiving no regional radiation therapy. Researchers want to see if not giving this type of radiation treatment works as well at preventing breast cancer from coming back.

5-Fluorouracil/Leucovorin (5FU/LV) in Combination With Regorafenib in Patients With Metastatic Colorectal Cancer
Recruiting
This is a non-inferiority randomized phase II trial investigating the efficacy and safety of 5FU/LV in combination with regorafenib for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer in the third-line setting. Patients will be randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio between 5FU/LV combined with regorafenib or trifluridine-tipiracil (FTD-TPI) plus bevacizumab. Arm 1 (Treatment Arm) will consist of the 5FU/LV administered to 26 patients as (LV \[400 mg/m² IV over 120 minutes\], followed by 5FU \[400 mg/m²... Read More

Leveraging Methylated DNA Markers (MDMs) in the Detection of Endometrial Cancer, Ovarian Cancer, and Cervical Cancer
Recruiting
The overarching objective of this project is to develop a pan-gynecologic cancer detection test using gynecologic (unique endometrial, cervical, and ovarian cancer) cancer-specific methylated DNA markers and high-risk human papilloma virus (HR-HPV) detected in vaginal fluid and/or plasma. This proposal defines Phase II MDM-based cancer detection studies in endometrial cancer (EC) and endometrial hyperplasia with atypia (AEH) in vaginal fluid and 2) ovarian cancer (OC) in plasma and vaginal flui... Know and Own Your Movement-related Metrics Via Wearable Devices
Recruiting
This study aims to promote daily physical activity in cancer survivors who are at high risk for type 2 diabetes (T2D) by using a personalized biological-based feedback strategy. T2D is one of the most common co-occurring conditions in cancer survivors and can worsen cancer-related health outcomes, especially in those who are insufficiently active. The investigators hypothesize that seeing the immediate impacts of exercise on their biological status will motivate cancer survivors to exercise. The... Read More

Multi-Site Trial of Navigation vs Treatment as Usual to Improve Initiation of Timely Adjuvant Therapy
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the effectiveness of a navigation-based multilevel intervention (ENDURE) with treatment as usual (TAU) to improve the initiation of guideline-adherent postoperative radiation therapy among patients with head and neck cancer. The main questions the trial aims to answer are: 1. Does ENDURE improve initiation of timely PORT relative to treatment as usual? 2. What are the mechanisms through which ENDURE improves timeliness to treatment? 3. What are the... Read More

Psychophysical Studies of Cancer Therapy Pain
Recruiting
The Aim of this Study is to examine the feasibility of using quantitative sensory testing procedures, widely applied to the experimental study of sensory processing in humans both with and without various pain syndromes, to now characterize the psychophysical properties of neuropathic pain that has developed as a consequence of cancer therapy. Skin punch biopsies will be performed in patients with chemotherapy-induced pain to determine whether the impairment of nerve function is due to actual re... Read More
