The goal of this project is to test our central hypothesis that the spinal cord neuroplasticity in females will be modulated by the level of estradiol concentration. under aim 1 we will determine the influence of estradiol fluctuations on spinal circuit excitability post afferent (sensory) mediated subthreshold motor priming in young healthy females and males. We will use an established repetitive peripheral nerve electrical stimulation with a stimulation intensity below the motor threshold to prime the spinal motor circuits. under aim 2 we seek to characterize the input output property of spinal circuit excitability after descending drive (motor) mediated priming in young healthy male participants. in aim 3 we will examine the influence of estradiol fluctuations on descending drive mediated motor priming in young healthy females. The purpose of Lunar OI (Orthostatic Intolerance) is to determine if there are differences between males and females in tolerance to and cardiovascular responses during different angles of head-up tilt simulating gravity levels less than or equal to Earth's gravity. Also, this study will determine if a gradient compression garment affects tolerance to tilting and the cardiovascular stress at different tilt angles. Males and females are being identified by biological sex. This will be a two-phased study design. In Phase I we will determine whether there are differences in the development of signs or symptoms of orthostatic intolerance between males and females when tilted head up on a table to different angles to simulate gravity levels that astronauts may experience when landing on or launching from the surface of the Moon. In Phase II, the tilt tests simulating the same gravity levels from Phase I will be repeated, but a custom-made lower-body compression garment will be worn to see if wearing the garment affects the development of orthostatic intolerance. For both study phases, before tilting, a drug will be administered to reduce the amount fluid in the blood (plasma) to levels similar to that experienced by astronauts during spaceflight. Read Less

Venoconstrictive Thigh Cuffs (VTC) are being evaluated to determine the effectiveness at reversing the headward fluid shift that occurs during weightlessness. If successful, future studies may be done to implement these as a CM to SANS. To support this effort, participants will participate in 2 preflight study sessions consisting of a VTC fit check and a baseline data collection without and with the VTC donned. Participants will also participate in 3 inflight study sessions: a VTC fit check on flight day 30 (FD30) and two separate data collection sessions on flight day 45 (FD45) and 45 days before landing (R-45). The goal of this clinical trial is to test a culturally tailored health promotion intervention for children with IDD and their families. First investigators will conduct a single group design pilot study of a health promotion intervention, followed by second, a small-scale randomized control trial (RCT). of the intervention with Latino parents of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the Chicago, Illinois and Austin, Texas areas. The following research questions will be addressed: Question 1: What is the appropriate content, dosage, and delivery method of the intervention? Question 2: What is the feasibility and acceptability of the intervention? Question 3: Do participants improve between pre and post-test on outcome measures both in the one group design and compared to the control group in the RCT? Parents will receive 10 weekly remote sessions on health promotion content delivered by parent mentors called promotoras. This is a multi-center, exploratory, estimation study in both adult and pediatric populations. There is no investigational product injection during this study The exploratory objective of this study is to evaluate the anatomical characteristics of both anterolateral thighs in healthy adult and healthy pediatric populations (2 to 17 years old) by ultrasound scan before and while applying a force similar to the ZENEO® triggering force. In the healthy adult population, anatomical characteristics of one shoulder (deltoid) and one upper arm (biceps and triceps) will also be evaluated by ultrasound scan before and while applying a force similar to ZENEO® triggering force. Only ultrasound procedures will be performed using an investigational ultrasound system.
