The goal of this clinical trial is to learn how fructose ingestion affects metabolic factors in healthy adults aged 18-64, with a BMI between 19 and 30 kg/m², of any sex or gender. Specifically, the study aims to examine the impact of fructose compared to glucose on circulating metabolic factors including the soluble leptin receptor. The main questions it aims to answer are: How does fructose ingestion influence levels of circulating metabolic markers, including the soluble leptin receptor? Does fructose consumption have different metabolic effects compared to glucose? Participants will: Complete a screening phone call to review their health history and eligibility. Attend two in-person visits at least two weeks apart, where they will: Fast for 8 hours beforehand. Consume a beverage containing either 75g of fructose or glucose. Have blood drawn at regular intervals for up to 5 hours after consumption to measure circulating levels of metabolic markers. Read Less

The goal of this project is to test our central hypothesis that the spinal cord neuroplasticity in females will be modulated by the level of estradiol concentration. under aim 1 we will determine the influence of estradiol fluctuations on spinal circuit excitability post afferent (sensory) mediated subthreshold motor priming in young healthy females and males. We will use an established repetitive peripheral nerve electrical stimulation with a stimulation intensity below the motor threshold to prime the spinal motor circuits. under aim 2 we seek to characterize the input output property of spinal circuit excitability after descending drive (motor) mediated priming in young healthy male participants. in aim 3 we will examine the influence of estradiol fluctuations on descending drive mediated motor priming in young healthy females. The goal of this clinical trial is to test a culturally tailored health promotion intervention for children with IDD and their families. First investigators will conduct a single group design pilot study of a health promotion intervention, followed by second, a small-scale randomized control trial (RCT). of the intervention with Latino parents of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the Chicago, Illinois and Austin, Texas areas. The following research questions will be addressed: Question 1: What is the appropriate content, dosage, and delivery method of the intervention? Question 2: What is the feasibility and acceptability of the intervention? Question 3: Do participants improve between pre and post-test on outcome measures both in the one group design and compared to the control group in the RCT? Parents will receive 10 weekly remote sessions on health promotion content delivered by parent mentors called promotoras. This is a multi-center, exploratory, estimation study in both adult and pediatric populations. There is no investigational product injection during this study The exploratory objective of this study is to evaluate the anatomical characteristics of both anterolateral thighs in healthy adult and healthy pediatric populations (2 to 17 years old) by ultrasound scan before and while applying a force similar to the ZENEO® triggering force. In the healthy adult population, anatomical characteristics of one shoulder (deltoid) and one upper arm (biceps and triceps) will also be evaluated by ultrasound scan before and while applying a force similar to ZENEO® triggering force. The purpose of Fluid Loading Countermeasures is to determine how the volume of blood and of plasma (liquid part of blood) change during a normal day, how these are affected by drinking an additional amount of fluid either as water and salt tablets (as astronauts do) or an electrolyte beverage (similar to but tastes saltier than Gatorade®), and how altering the timing at which the additional fluid is consumed affects blood and plasma volume. This study observes how blood volume changes over \~9 hours of the day during 4 separate visits in healthy participants. During 1 visit participants will drink a small amount of water throughout the visit. During the other 3 study visits participants will drink the small amount of water plus either more water with salt tablets or an electrolyte solution. Consuming the additional fluids is called "fluid loading". This study is meant to simulate the food and fluid consumption of astronauts on landing day. The core objective of this study is to enhance the translational potential of this electroencephalogram (EEG) biomarker by using ketamine(KET)-induced gamma potentiation as a prognostic marker of 4-week treatment outcome. Previous research focused exclusively on KET-induced gamma band potentiation (GBP) in the context of a single infusion. Our study design captures the clinical variation associated with real-world treatment resistant depression (TRD) patients and allows us to analyze the relative importance of GBP to antidepressant symptom reduction across the induction phase of treatment. If successful, it provides a compelling rationale for a larger prospective investigation of gamma dynamics as a moderator of outcome to varied TRD therapies which impact the balance of cortical excitation and inhibition.
