This study will look at how well CagriSema helps people with type 2 diabetes lower their blood sugar and body weight. CagriSema is a new investigational medicine. Doctors may not yet prescribe CagriSema. CagriSema will be compared to a medicine called tirzepatide that doctors may prescribe in some countries. Participants will get either CagriSema or tirzepatide. Which treatment participant get is decided by chance like flipping a coin. Participant will have an equal chance of receiving either drug. The Coordinating and Data Management Center (CDMC) at MD Anderson Cancer will be responsible for the coordination and data management for the Evaluation of a mixed meal test for Diagnosis and characterization of Type 3c diabetes mellitus secondary to pancreatic cancer and chronic pancreatitis (DETECT), which is part of the NIH U01 funded Consortium for the Study of Chronic Pancreatitis, Diabetes, and Pancreatic Cancer (CPDPC). Similar to all studies that will be coordinated and managed by the CDMC, no patient enrollment will occur at MDACC. All patient recruitment will occur at external sites that are a part of the CPDPC, which are listed in the appended DETECT protocol. Participant will get either CagriSema or "dummy" medicine and which treatment they get is decided by chance. The Revita® system is being investigated to assess the efficacy of DMR versus Sham on improvement in Glycemic, Hepatic and Cardiovascular endpoints for patients with Type 2 Diabetes who are inadequately controlled with insulin therapy. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of the Fractyl DMR Procedure using the Revita® System compared to a sham. Subjects randomized to the DMR procedure will be followed per protocol till 48 weeks post treatment. Subjects in the Sham treatment arm will be offered cross over to receive the DMR treatment at 48 weeks and will be followed per protocol for 48 weeks post treatment. Read Less

This study will look at how well a new medicine called NNC0519-0130 helps people with type 2 diabetes lower their blood sugar and body weight. The study will test up to 7 different doses of NNC0519-0130. Which treatment participant will get is decided by chance. Participants will take 1-3 injections once a week. The main purpose of this study is to determine safety and efficacy of orforglipron compared with placebo in adult participants with type 2 diabetes and inadequate glycemic control with diet and exercise alone. The study will last approximately 54 weeks. Read Less

The purpose of this research study is to determine if rifampin, an antibiotic (a medicine that treats infections), is effective in treating osteomyelitis (infection of the bone) of the foot in diabetic patients. Despite use of powerful antibiotics prescribed over a long period of time, many diabetic patients remain at a high risk for needing an amputation of part of the foot or lower leg because the osteomyelitis is not cured. Some small research studies have shown that addition of rifampin to other antibiotics is effective in treating osteomyelitis in both diabetics and non-diabetics. However, because few diabetics with osteomyelitis have been studied, there is no definite proof that it is better than the usual treatments for diabetic patients. If this study finds that adding rifampin to the usual antibiotics prescribed for osteomyelitis reduces the risk for amputations, doctors will be able to more effectively treat many Veteran patients with this serious infection. The EMPoWER Study randomized clinical trial is a strengths-based behavioral intervention delivered to youth with type 1 diabetes (age 10 to 13) and their parents. The purpose of the intervention is to improve glycemic, behavioral, and psychosocial outcomes in youth with diabetes using a multiple systems approach that engages youth, their parents, and diabetes care providers to identify and build youths' diabetes strengths. The primary aim of this study is to assess the intervention impact on glycemic control, adherence, and health-related quality of life (HRQOL). Secondary aims are to evaluate behavioral mediators of intervention impact and to examine intervention dose as a mediator of intervention impact. In preparation for the randomized clinical trial of a new behavioral intervention for preteens with type 1 diabetes and their parents, the study is first enrolling adolescents with type 1 diabetes to create videos about living well with type 1 diabetes. The videos will be used in the intervention materials for the randomized clinical trial. Read Less

This is a non-blinded, prospective, multi-center, single arm longitudinal cohort study (patient serving as their own control), to evaluate the effectiveness of diabetes with the Eversense CGM System non-adjunctively compared to self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) using a blood glucose (BG) meter in participants with either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. Subjects will serve as their own control, with their baseline based on using SMBG to manage their diabetes for the first 6 months followed by using Eversense CGM System non-adjunctively for the second 6 months. Total follow-up duration is 12 months. The investigation will include both clinic visits and home use of Eversense CGM System. The nonadjunctive phase will have two sensors, up to 90-day duration, inserted sequentially. All care decisions specific to diabetes will be based on blood glucose (BG) values in the first phase and the Eversense CGM system values in the second phase. Read Less
