Operative Procedures vs. Endovascular Neurosurgery for Untreated Pseudotumor Trial
Recruiting
Pseudotumor cerebri, also called idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), is characterized by elevated intracranial pressure, headache, and if severe, vision loss. IIH is difficult to treat. Medical management may not adequately resolve the symptoms, and surgical management (primarily through cerebrospinal fluid [CSF] shunting) has a high failure rate. Recently, a relationship between IIH and stenosis of the dural venous sinuses (the veins that drain blood from the brain) has been reported. I... Read More

Nephrotic Syndrome Study Network
Recruiting
Minimal change disease (MCD), focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), and Membranous nephropathy (MN), generate an enormous individual and societal financial burden, accounting for approximately 12% of prevalent end stage renal disease (ESRD) cases (2005) at an annual cost in the US of more than $3 billion. However, the clinical classification of these diseases is widely believed to be inadequate by the scientific community. Given the poor understanding of MCD/FSGS and MN biology, it is not s... Brightline-4: A Study to Test How Well Brigimadlin is Tolerated by People With a Type of Cancer Called Dedifferentiated Liposarcoma
Recruiting
This study is open to adults with a type of cancer called dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS). They can join the study if their tumours are positive for MDM2. The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called brigimadlin (BI 907828) is tolerated by and helps people with DDLPS. Brigimadlin is a so-called MDM2 inhibitor that is being developed to treat cancer.
Participants take brigimadlin as a tablet once every 3 weeks. Participants may continue to take brigimadlin as long as t... Read More

Contribution of UGT2B17 to the Pharmacokinetics of Diclofenac
Recruiting
The purpose of this pilot study is to gather preliminary data on the (1) contribution of the understudied drug metabolizing enzyme, UDP-glucuronosyltransferase (UGT) 2B17, to the metabolism of a widely used medication, diclofenac, and (2) impact of the UGT2B17 inhibitor and natural product, curcumin, on diclofenac pharmacokinetics. Results will inform future studies aimed to assess the effects of UGT2B17 genetic polymorphisms and co-consumed xenobiotics on the pharmacokinetics and toxicity risk... Read More

A Study to Learn More About the Health of Persons With Down Syndrome After Treatment for Acute Leukemia
Recruiting
This study attempts to learn more about the health of persons with Down syndrome after treatment for acute leukemia. Children with Down syndrome are at increased risk for side effects during treatment for acute leukemia, but it is unclear of their risk for long-term effects of cancer treatment. By learning more about the factors that may contribute to chronic health conditions and long-term effects after treatment for leukemia in persons with Down syndrome, clinical practice guidelines for survi...
