Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common condition affecting about 4% of people worldwide and can significantly impact quality of life and healthcare costs. While there are medications available, few are consistently effective, leading many people with IBS to explore alternative treatments, including naturopathy. However, research on naturopathic approaches to IBS is limited. This study aims to describe how naturopathy is used to treat IBS and to collect preliminary data on changes in IBS symptoms before and after treatment. It will use a prospective, observational design without a control group, focusing on outcomes from individualized naturopathic care provided by licensed practitioners. Adult patients with diagnosed IBS or IBS-like symptoms will be recruited from naturopathic doctors affiliated with the Gastroenterology Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Participants' IBS symptoms will be assessed using validated tools (IBS-SSS and IBS-AR), and quality of life will be measured using the PROMIS-29 survey. Treatment details and any adverse effects will also be recorded. The main outcome will be the difference in symptoms and quality of life after 12 weeks of treatment. Results will be analyzed with statistical tests (p-value \< 0.05) and summarized. This phase IIA study evaluates the effects of calcipotriene plus 5- fluorouracil immunotherapy for skin cancer prevention in organ transplant recipients. Solid organ transplant recipients are at high risk of developing skin cancer. Actinic keratosis (AK), is a premalignant skin lesion that can progress to squamous cell skin cancer. In this study, solid organ transplant recipients with multiple AKs are treated with topical calcipotriene and 5-FU to evaluate how effective this therapy is against AKs and if this could lower their risk of skin cancer. Topical calcipotriene is a form of vitamin D and is used to treat psoriasis. Prior research reported immunomodulatory effects in the skin induced by topical calcipotriene. Topical 5- fluorouracil is a chemotherapy agent and is one of the therapy options for multiple AKs in specific clinical scenarios. Prior research indicates that topical calcipotriene used together with topical 5-FU was more effective in treating multiple AKs than 5-FU alone in individuals with healthy immune system. This study is investigating now if similar beneficial effects can be seen in immunosuppressed individuals who are solid organ transplant recipients. Read Less

The purpose of the pivotal reader study is to assess the readers' accuracy in diagnosing plus disease versus no plus or pre-plus disease with or without the aid of the i-ROP DL. Ophthalmologists' performance metrics for the following modalities will be evaluated: * Standard evaluation following the standard of care process ("without i-ROP DL") * Evaluation following the standard of care process with the aid of the i-ROP DL ("with i-ROP DL") This retrospective multi-reader multi-case (MRMC) study will have an enriched sample of approximately 300 eye cases (1 study eye per subject): 60 plus cases, 120 pre-plus cases and 120 no plus cases. Enrichment is with respect to proportions of plus cases and pre-plus cases. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate whether the area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) based on probability scores of plus disease statistically significantly non-inferior or superior with the aid of the i-ROP DL versus without the aid of the i-ROP DL. The purpose of our study is to evaluate Vibrotactile Coordinated Reset stimulation (vCR) and its effects on motor function in people with Parkinson's disease (PD). vCR will be administered with a device called the Vibrotactile (VT) Touch device. vCR can be used in conjunction with medication and is expected to delay the need to increase dopamine medication. It also provides a more flexible alternative to deep brain stimulation (DBS) in that the vCR therapy can be easily stopped or modified to better suit the patients' needs. Read Less

Patients with a primary invasive melanoma are recommended to undergo excision of the primary lesion with a wide margin. There is evidence that less radical margins of excision may be just as safe. This is a randomised controlled trial of 1 cm versus 2 cm margin of excision of the primary lesion for adult patients with stage II primary invasive cutaneous melanomas (AJCC 8th edition) to determine differences in disease-free survival. Close supports are uniquely poised to provide a meaningful contribution to suicide prevention, if they can learn how to effectively promote Veterans' connection to care. VA S.A.V.E. (Signs; Ask; Validate; Encourage and Expedite) is a suicide prevention gatekeeper training specifically tailored to the Veteran community that teaches close supports how to identify signs of suicide risk and how to connect the at-risk person to professional treatment. Our intent is to establish the International Registry to Improve Outcomes in Men with Advanced Prostate Cancer (IRONMAN) as a prospective, international cohort of minimum 5,000 men with advanced cancer, including men with mHSPC and M0/M1 CRPC. The goal is to establish a population-based registry and recruit patients across academic and community practices from Australia, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Nigeria, Norway, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom (UK), and the United States (US). Target accrual number and number of participating sites are subject to change based on accrual, funding, and interest in participation by other international sites. This cohort study will facilitate a better understanding of the variation in care and treatment of advanced prostate cancer across countries and across academia and community based practices. Detailed data will be collected from patients at study enrollment and then during follow-up, for a minimum of five years. Patients will be followed prospectively for overall survival, clinically significant adverse events, comorbidities, changes in cancer treatments, and PROMs. PROMs questionnaires will be collected at enrollment and every three months thereafter. Physician Questionnaires will be collected from all participating sites at patient enrollment, time of first change in treatment and/or one year follow-up, at each subsequent change of treatment, and discontinuation of treatment. As such, this registry will help identify the treatment sequences or combinations that optimize overall survival and PROMs for men with mHSPC and M0/M1 CRPC. By collecting blood at enrollment, time of first change in treatment and/or one year follow-up (plasma, cell free DNA, buffy coat / RNA), this registry will further identify and validate molecular phenotypes of disease that predict response and resistance to specific therapeutics. Additionally, every effort will be made to collect blood specimen at each subsequent change in treatment due to progression of disease. When feasible, existing tumor tissue may be collected for correlation with described blood based studies. All samples will be used for future research. This is a Phase 1b, open-label, multicenter, safety, tolerability and efficacy study of HC-7366 in combination with belzutifan (WELIREG™). This is a multipart study that consists of a HC-7366 monotherapy cohort, a combination dose escalation, and a combination dose expansion. Approximately 80 patients will be enrolled in this study (up to 20 patients will be enrolled into the HC-7366 monotherapy cohort, up to 30 patients into the combination dose escalation, and up to 30 patients into the combination dose expansion). The primary purpose of this study is to determine the maximum tolerated dose of HC-7366 in combination with belzutifan in patients with locally advanced (inoperable) or metastatic RCC with predominantly clear cell histology, irrespective of VHL gene mutation status.
