The state of California currently has 945 active clinical trials seeking participants for Cancer research studies. These trials are conducted in various cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Sacramento.
Randomized Phase II Trial of Targeted Radiation With no Castration for Mcrpc
Recruiting
This trial tests if the combination of comprehensive metastasis directed therapy delivered by a precision form of external beam radiotherapy (stereotactic ablative radiotherapy), combined with PSMA targeted radiopharmaceutical therapy and cessation of castration, and then followed by testosterone replacement, is an effective treatment for metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer. All patients will be treated with stereotactic ablative radiotherapy and PSMA targeted radiopharmaceutical th... Read More

PIPAC for the Treatment of Peritoneal Carcinomatosis in Patients With Ovarian, Uterine, Appendiceal, Colorectal, or Gastric Cancer
Recruiting
This phase I trial studies the side effects of pressurized intraperitoneal aerosol chemotherapy (PIPAC) in treating patients with ovarian, uterine, appendiceal, stomach (gastric), or colorectal cancer that has spread to the lining of the abdominal cavity (peritoneal carcinomatosis). Chemotherapy drugs, such as cisplatin, doxorubicin, oxaliplatin, leucovorin, fluorouracil, mitomycin, and irinotecan, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping... Value-based Integrated Recommendation Software Guiding Ovarian Cancer Treatment (VIRGO2)
Recruiting
This study will evaluate the use of a mobile application in improving the patient-reported health outcome measures (PROMIS) for patients diagnosed with advanced stage ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancer. The application will incorporate clinical data from the patient's medical chart as well as capture patient-reported outcome measures on an ongoing basis to better inform physicians and the care team so that necessary interventions may be implemented.

A Dose Finding Phase 1 of Sarilumab Plus Capecitabine in HER2/Neu-Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer and a Single-arm, Historically-controlled Phase 2 Study of Sarilumab Plus Capecitabine in Stage I-III Triple Negative Breast Cancer With High-Risk Residual Disease (EMPOWER)
Recruiting
This study looks to advance a novel and potent strategy to eliminate minimal residual disease (MRD) in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) present even after multimodal treatment, thereby improving survival and increasing cure rate in this aggressive cancer. Patients with locally advanced TNBC are at high risk of developing lethal metastatic disease within 2 years of diagnosis, especially for those without a pathologic complete response (pCR) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The high risk occurs... Read More

Short Course Radiation Therapy and Combination Chemotherapy for the Treatment of Stage II-III Rectal Cancer
Recruiting
This phase I trial investigates how well short-course radiation therapy followed by combination chemotherapy works in treating patients with stage II-III rectal cancer. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Chemotherapy drugs, such as leucovorin, fluorouracil, oxaliplatin, and capecitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving sho... Read More

Intraperitoneal LSTA1 in CRS-HIPEC
Recruiting
This Study is designed to test an investigational product (IP) called LSTA1 (Study drug). LSTA1 is a drug designed to improve the delivery of anti-cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy. Improved delivery of chemotherapy may result in improved anti-cancer effects when given with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) in patients with peritoneal metastases. Patients will be randomized to receive LSTA1 with HIPEC or HIPEC alone (without LSTA1) at the time of surgery.

Pembrolizumab and Lenvatinib in Advanced/Metastatic Neuroendocrine Prostate Cancer
Recruiting
Eligible patients will be treated with the combination of lenvatinib and pembrolizumab. A cycle equals 21 days and therapy will continue until radiographic progression, intolerable toxicity, or patient/physician wishes to discontinue protocol therapy. A maximum of 35 cycles may be administered. On Day 1, when both pembrolizumab and lenvatinib are administered, patients should take the lenvatinib per their normal routine.

Empowering Patients' Lung Cancer Screening Uptake
Recruiting
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer related mortality. Lung cancer screening (LCS) with low dose computed tomography (LDCT) decreases mortality rate of lung cancer by 20%. Yet many patients who are eligible for lung cancer screening are still falling through the cracks which prevents patients the ability to detect lung cancer early. This study will test the effect of a a multi-level intervention on ordering LDCT within 6 months after patient enrollment. Our proposed intervention includes... Read More
