There are currently 45 active clinical trials seeking participants for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder research studies. The states with the highest number of trials for Autism participants are Florida, California, New York and Massachusetts.
University of Iowa Interventional Psychiatry Service Patient Registry
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of interventional/procedural therapies for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). These treatments include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), racemic ketamine infusion and intranasal esketamine insufflation. The investigators will obtain various indicators, or biomarkers, of a depressed individuals' state before, during, and/or after these treatments. Such biomarkers... Read More

Neuroimaging Biomarkers for Predicting rTMS Response in OCD
Recruiting
This study evaluates an accelerated schedule of theta-burst stimulation using a Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) device for treatment-resistant Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). In a randomized fashion, half the participants will receive accelerated theta-burst stimulation at the dorsomedial prefrontal cortex (DMPFC), while half will receive accelerated theta-burst stimulation at the right orbitofrontal (rOFC) site.

Multimodal Assessment of Cannabinoid Target Engagement in Adults With Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
Recruiting
The purpose of this research study is to test how a medication called nabilone (Cesamet) affects neurocognitive processes involved in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), including threat response, processing of fear signals, and habitual behavior. OCD is a disabling illness that affects around 2% of the population and involves recurrent intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors (compulsions) that lead to distress and/or impaired functioning. Nabilone is a synthetic form of delta-... Read More

Trial of Naproxen Sodium for the Treatment of OCD in Children With PANDAS
Recruiting
This project aims to rigorously evaluate a potential treatment for inflammation-related Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) symptoms in children. To accomplish this goal, the investigators will conduct a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial of Naproxen Sodium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) in participants diagnosed with Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcal infections (PANDAS). This research fills a gap in the empirical evidenc... Read More

Cognitive Bias Modification for OCD
Recruiting
This study will conduct the development and preliminary evaluation of Cognitive Bias Modification for Interpretation (CBM-I) and Approach Avoidance Training (AAT) as augmentations to treatment as usual for OCD and related disorders. CBM-I refers to computerized interventions designed to directly manipulate interpretation bias through repeated practice on a training task, thereby inducing cognitive changes in a relatively automatic or implicit manner. In AAT, automatic approach tendencies toward... Read More

Building an Outcomes Assessment Infrastructure to Assess Anxiety Treatment
Recruiting
The collection of patient self-report and diagnostic data will allow us to examine the efficacy of the treatment delivered in the McLean Anxiety Mastery Program. Using data gathered through routine clinical care, the investigators seek to explore whether patients in treatment show improvements from admission to discharge, compared to patients on the waitlist, and whether these gains are maintained three months post-discharge. The following are included as examples of some of the study's hypothes... Read More

An ERP-based Mobile Intervention as an Adjunctive Treatment for OCD
Recruiting
The objective of this feasibility study is to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and potential usefulness of the investigational device, a mobile software application (app) (OC Free) for treatment of OCD (contamination obsession only), adjunctive to individuals receiving outpatient ERP therapy. OC Free is an iOS/Android app that provides treatment via computerized exposure and response prevention (ERP). The study will evaluate preliminary safety and effectiveness of the app using gold-stan... Read More

CO2 Reactivity as a Biomarker of Non-Response to Exposure-Based Therapy
Recruiting
Anxiety-, obsessive-compulsive and trauma- and stressor-related disorders reflect a significant public health problem. This study is designed to evaluate the predictive power of a novel biomarker based on a CO2 challenge, thus addressing the central question "can this easy-to-administer assay aid clinicians in deciding whether or not to initiate exposure-based therapy?"

Improving Access to Child Anxiety Treatment
Recruiting
There is strong evidence that cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with exposure is the preferred treatment for youth with anxiety disorders, but outpatient services that provide this type of treatment are limited. Even for those who do have access to anxiety-specific treatment, a traditional outpatient model of treatment delivery may not be suitable. Among the numerous logistical barriers to treatment access and response is the inability to generalize treatment tools to settings outside of the of... Read More
