Nevada Clinical Trials

A listing of Nevada clinical trials actively recruiting patient volunteers.

Nevada may be best known for the Las Vegas Strip, but there's plenty to see outside it. Carson City, Reno, and Virginia City all hold their own charms for visitors and residents alike. A vast state with a low population density, it remains the 4th largest producer of gold in the world, even after many Gold Rush "boom towns" have long since been exhausted. As much of the state is dotted with small communities, the best healthcare is centered on larger cities. The Las Vegas area's Sunrise Hospital & Medical Cente is the biggest provider, with more than 640 beds.

Dabrafenib and Trametinib Followed by Ipilimumab and Nivolumab or Ipilimumab and Nivolumab Followed by Dabrafenib and Trametinib in Treating Patients With Stage III-IV BRAFV600 Melanoma

NCT02224781

This phase III trial studies how well initial treatment with ipilimumab and nivolumab followed by dabrafenib and trametinib works and compares it to initial treatment with dabrafenib and trametinib followed by ipilimumab and nivolumab in treating patients with stage III-IV melanoma that contains a mutation known as BRAFV600 and cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as ipilimumab and nivolumab, may help the body's immune system attack the canc ...

A Multicenter, Multinational, Observational Morquio A Registry Study (MARS)

NCT02294877

The objectives of this program are: to characterize and describe the Mucopolysaccharidosis IV type A (MPS IVA) population as a whole, including the heterogeneity, progression, and natural history of MPS IVA; to evaluate the long-term effectiveness and safety of VimizimĀ®, including, but not limited to, the occurrence of serious hypersensitivity reactions, anaphylaxis, and changes in antibody status; to help the medical community with the development of recommendations for monitoring MPS IVA patie ...

Conditions: Mucopolysaccharidosis IV Type A, Morquio A Syndrome, MPS IVA

A Phase II/III Trial of Nivolumab, Ipilimumab, and GM-CSF in Patients With Advanced Melanoma

NCT02339571

This phase II/III trial studies the side effects of nivolumab and ipilimumab when given together with or without sargramostim and to see how well they work in treating patients with stage III-IV melanoma that cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as ipilimumab and nivolumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Colony-stimulating factors, such as sargramosti ...

Standard of Care Therapy With or Without Stereotactic Radiosurgery and/or Surgery in Treating Patients With Limited Metastatic Breast Cancer

NCT02364557

This randomized phase II/III trial studies how well standard of care therapy with stereotactic radiosurgery and/or surgery works and compares it to standard of care therapy alone in treating patients with breast cancer that has spread to one or two locations in the body (limited metastatic) that are previously untreated. Standard of care therapy comprising chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, biological therapy, and others may help stop the spread of tumor cells. Radiation therapy and/or surgery is u ...

An Efficacy and Safety Study of Erdafitinib (JNJ-42756493) in Participants With Urothelial Cancer

NCT02365597

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the objective response rate (complete response [CR]+ partial response [PR]) of the selected dose regimen in participants with metastatic or surgically unresectable urothelial cancers that harbor specific FGFR genomic alterations.

Conditions: Urothelial Cancer

Project: Every Child for Younger Patients With Cancer

NCT02402244

This study gathers health information for the Project: Every Child for younger patients with cancer. Gathering health information over time from younger patients with cancer may help doctors find better methods of treatment and on-going care.

Conditions: Central Nervous System Neoplasm, Childhood Immature Teratoma, Childhood Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis, Childhood Mature Teratoma, Congenital Mesoblastic Nephroma, Desmoid-Type Fibromatosis, Lymphoproliferative Disorder, Myeloproliferative Neoplasm, Stromal Neoplasm, Carcinoma In Situ, Malignant Solid Neoplasm

Platinum Based Chemotherapy or Capecitabine in Treating Patients With Residual Triple-Negative Basal-Like Breast Cancer Following Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy

NCT02445391

This randomized phase III trial studies how well cisplatin or carboplatin (platinum based chemotherapy) works compared to capecitabine in treating patients with remaining (residual) basal-like triple-negative breast cancer following chemotherapy after surgery (neoadjuvant). Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, carboplatin and capecitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spre ...

Targeted Therapy Directed by Genetic Testing in Treating Patients With Advanced Refractory Solid Tumors, Lymphomas, or Multiple Myeloma (The MATCH Screening Trial)

NCT02465060

This phase II MATCH trial studies how well treatment that is directed by genetic testing works in patients with solid tumors or lymphomas that have progressed following at least one line of standard treatment or for which no agreed upon treatment approach exists. Genetic tests look at the unique genetic material (genes) of patients' tumor cells. Patients with genetic abnormalities (such as mutations, amplifications, or translocations) may benefit more from treatment which targets their tumor's p ...
