Adolescent Outcomes of Post-operative Opioid EXposure
Recruiting
The goal of this observational study is to examine the factors associated with the transition from medical exposure to opioids with "signposts" of future opioid use disorder among adolescent surgical patients. The main question aims to identify factors (moderators, mediators, and covariates) associated with risk factors for opioid use disorder (ROUD) in the 12 months following major surgery with opioid exposure among adolescents aged 12-17. Participants will be asked to complete electronic surve... Read More

Variability in Analgesic Response to Ibuprofen
Recruiting
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), like ibuprofen, are recommended as first-line treatment for post-surgical dental pain. However, there is variability in analgesic response, and some patients require supplemental opioids for adequate pain relief. The goal of this study is to identify the factors that contribute to the need for opioid after third molar extraction to help limit unnecessary opioid prescriptions in patients who will have good pain relief with ibuprofen alone.

Pain and Disability Outcomes in Post Amputation Patients
Recruiting
The objective of this study is to evaluate efficacy of varied medical and procedural therapies used to treat pain after surgical amputation of a limb. The primary outcome will be assessment of pain severity at rest and with movement as measured by pain scores on Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) 0 to 10, where 0 is not pain and 10 is the worst pain possible, taken on post-operative day 1, day 7, 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year (+/- 3 days at each time point).

Ketamine Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics for Postpartum Depression and Pain After Cesarean Delivery
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to identify pharmacokinetics of postpartum ketamine infusion. This study will assess ketamine kinetics and metabolism in this setting. Ketamine is expected to exert different kinetics during the physiologic state of post-pregnancy. The goal in conducting this study is to better understand the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of postpartum ketamine infusion. A secondary goal is to compare these kinetics to reproductive age matched controls and to assess sex diffe... Read More

Scrambler Therapy With Duloxetine-based Usual Care vs Duloxetine-based Usual Care for Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy
Recruiting
The Investigators hypothesize that Scrambler therapy with duloxetine compared to duloxetine-based usual care will result in greater improvement in CIPN as measured by the BPI-Short Form. In addition, the Investigators will further assess pain using the EORTC CIPN-20 and determine whether Scrambler therapy will result in improved levels of function as measured with the PDQ, and decreased need for opioid medications.
Our primary objective Investigate whether Scrambler therapy with duloxetine is s... Read More
