The goal of this clinical trial is to compare CT scan of the coverage of tumors treated with TACE using End Hole catheters to those treated with the TriNav catheter that alters tissue pressure. Both catheters are FDA approved for delivery of TACE. • Is there a difference in CT appearance with delivery in the type of catheter used during the TACE procedure? Participants will be asked to undergo a TACE procedure, a CT scan and review of their medical record to compare End Hole and TriNav catheters during TACE procedures. Read Less

This clinical trial tests the effectiveness of an interactive time-restricted diet intervention (txt4fasting) in reducing neurocognitive decline and improving survival outcomes after stereotactic radiosurgery in patients with breast or lung cancer that has spread to the brain (brain metastases). Lung cancer and breast cancer are the two most frequent causes of brain metastases. The diagnosis of brain metastases is associated with poorer survival and tumor-induced and treatment-related side effects. Stereotactic radiosurgery is a type of external radiation therapy that uses special equipment to position the patient and precisely give a single large dose of radiation to a tumor. Patients who receive stereotactic radiosurgery for brain metastases may experience less neurocognitive side effects than with other types of brain radiation, but may still be at risk for their brain metastases growing, spreading, or getting worse. Patients with obesity and diabetes have been shown to have worse survival and increased radiation-related side effects. Evidence demonstrates that simply changing meal timing can have a positive impact on multiple health outcomes. Time-restricted eating, or prolonged nighttime fasting, has been proven to have positive effects on heart disease risk reduction, weight control management and chemotherapy side effect reduction. Txt4fasting may be effective in decreasing neurocognitive decline and improving survival outcomes in patients undergoing stereotactic radiosurgery for brain metastases from breast or lung cancer. This study examines how head and neck cancer treatment affects quality of sleep over time and factors that contribute to sleep quality. Sleep plays a critical role in healing and quality of life, and recent studies investigating sleep disorders in head and neck cancer patients reveal sleep quality is a major determinant of post-treatment outcomes. Information from this study may help researchers better understand how treatment impacts sleep quality so that they can make changes that may help improve patient sleep quality. Read Less

Our successful R01 discovered 1) the neural mechanistic difference between typically occurring convergence insufficiency (TYP-CI) and binocularly normal controls and 2) the underlying mechanism of office-based vergence and accommodative therapy (OBVAT) that is effective in remediating symptoms. Adolescent and young adult concussion is considered a substantial health problem in the United States where our team has shown that about half of patients with persistent post-concussion symptoms have convergence insufficiency (PPCS-CI), causing significant negative impact associated with reading or digital screen-related activities, and is believed to be one factor causing delayed recovery impacting return to school, sports, or work. The results of this randomized clinical trial will impact the lives of adolescents and young adults with PPCS-CI to guide professionals on how to manage and treat those with PPCS-CI by 1) comparing the differences between PPCS-CI and TYP-CI, 2) discovering the neural mechanism of OBVAT for PPCS-CI compared to standard-community concussion care, and 3) determining the effectiveness of 12 one-hour sessions compared to 16 one-hour sessions of OBVAT. Corcym S.r.l., is a medical device manufacturer with a broad product portfolio for cardiac surgeons, offering solutions for the treatment of aortic, mitral and tricuspid valve disease. The MANTRA Master Plan (Master Protocol) is intended as an overarching Umbrella Protocol that allows multiple sub-studies to be added, as needed. The Umbrella Master Protocol concept offers an excellent solution to provide post-marketing clinical follow-up information on the entire cardiac surgery heart valve portfolio of the sponsor in a common database, including corelab assessment of hemodynamic and structural performance, annular motion and Dynamics for one of the products. Bone resorption after a tooth extraction is a generally accepted knowledge and has been demonstrated by many animal and human studies. Especially during the first three months followed by the tooth extraction, the volume of bone may change significantly without any interference. Thus, doing a ridge preservation procedure following the extraction is a common standard of care method to maintain the socket volume if implant placement is considered as a treatment option in the future. A variety of materials and methods have been used for ridge preservation. However, it's still inconclusive to determine the best material to maintain the ridge dimension, especially for membrane placement that allows for space maintenance to protect the grafting material. Furthermore, there is no evidence to show any treatment rationale is superior to any other ridge preservation method. In general, the membrane serves the function of the barrier and space protector. The periodontal surgeon use membranes to exclude the epithelium growth and to limit the collapse of the soft tissue into the healing alveolar socket. Regarding resorbable and non-resorbable membrane materials, both serve the function of protecting the graft material from the oral cavity. However, there are also many demonstrating that without membranes the extraction socket healed nicely without any interferences. The question to us is: Do we need the membrane to exclude the epithelium or any kind of surgical dressing material is sufficient enough to preserve the volume of the extracted ridge? This study is one of the three projects of an NIH Rare Disease Clinical Research Consortium. A "consortium" is a group of centres sharing information and resources to perform research. The consortium research focuses on brain blood vessel malformations in three different rare diseases. The focus of this specific study is on Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT). HHT is a condition characterized by blood vessel malformations, called telangiectasia and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), occurring in the brain, nose, lungs, stomach, bowels and liver. Brain AVMs (BAVMs) in HHT are difficult to study because they are rare, affecting approximately 10% of people with HHT. While other types of BAVMs have been studied in depth, studies in the HHT population have been very small. Here, we propose the first large-scale collaboration by joining with 12 HHT Centers of Excellence in North America to perform a large study of risk factors for bleeding from BAVMs, called intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) in HHT patients. The current standard of clinical practice across North America, is to screen all HHT patients for BAVMs with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). If BAVMs are detected, patients are referred to a multidisciplinary neurovascular team for consideration for treatment. Treatment decisions are made on a case by case basis, balancing risks of complications from the BAVM with risks of therapy, but are limited by the few studies available in HHT. We hope that the knowledge we obtain about the risk factors for intracranial bleeding in these patients from this larger study will help us to improve the care of HHT patients. We plan to study risk factors for rupture of BAVMs, including primarily genetics and imaging characteristics of the BAVMs. Knowledge about risk factors will help in the care and management of HHT patients. This will be achieved through the collection of health information to construct a HHT database, blood sampling and banking (through the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke \[NINDS\]), and through genetic analysis at the University of California San Francisco. This clinical trial examines positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) in evaluating cardiac radiation damage in patients with lung or esophageal cancer. As part of the treatment for lung or esophageal cancer, patients will undergo radiation therapy. Sometimes, during this treatment, the heart is also subjected to some radiation which could affect its function, either increasing or decreasing the function. It is not known the consequences of this change nor is it known if doctors can detect the changes associated with the radiation. Sarcoidosis FDG positron emission tomography (PET)-computed tomography (CT) scans are a common way to image cardiac inflammation and myocardial viability. This study may help doctors image the heart before, during and after radiotherapy to monitor any changes. Read Less

This is a prospective natural history study of CIPN in approximately 200 participants receiving taxanes (paclitaxel, docetaxel) for breast cancer, bortezomib for multiple myeloma, oxaliplatin-based regimens for colorectal cancer, or vincristine for lymphoma.. Demographic data, medical history, electronic PROs, ClinROs blood biomarkers including NF-L, PGx DNA analyses and Bedside-QST will be assessed at Baseline. The Observation Period will initiate with the first dose of chemotherapy and conclude with the last dose of chemotherapy. During the Observation Period, participants will be evaluated for the development of CIPN using PROs and ClinROs. Blood biomarkers and Bedside-QST will be measured at various timepoints corresponding with treatment regimen schedules throughout the observation period. The Post Chemotherapy Follow-up Period will begin with the first visit after the last dose of chemotherapy and conclude 6 months after the last dose of chemotherapy. During the Post Chemotherapy Follow-up Period, participants will be evaluated for CIPN using PROs and ClinROs. Blood biomarkers and Bedside-QST will also be measured at the beginning and at the end of the Post-Chemotherapy Follow-up Period. PROs will be assessed electronically on a monthly basis. Read Less
