Home-Based Exercise Program Using Mobile Technology After Left Ventricular Assist Device Implantation
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the effects of a home-based exercise program using mobile technology on physical activity and capacity, frailty and muscle mass, and quality of life in patients with a newly implanted HeartMate 3 left ventricular assist device (HM3 LVAD). Researchers will compare the effects of an exercise intervention vs. usual care on physical activity and capacity, frailty and muscle mass, and quality of life.

Implementation of Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation After Total Knee Arthroplasty
Recruiting
Patients experience dramatic quadriceps strength loss after total knee replacement, which contributes to persistent weakness and reduced long-term function after surgery. Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) reduces quadriceps weakness and improves patient function after knee replacement, but it is drastically underused in rehabilitation practice. This randomized trial will examine the effectiveness and feasibility of a comprehensive strategy for implementing neuromuscular electrical stim... Read More

Comparison of Uncomplicated Candidemia Therapy Duration in Children
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to compare antifungal therapy duration in pediatric uncomplicated candidemia. The specific aims are: * Compare the desirability of outcome ranking in children with uncomplicated candidemia randomized to 7 additional days of antifungal therapy (standard-course) versus no additional antifungal therapy (short-course) after already receiving 7 days of echinocandin therapy. * Compare the 14-day desirability of outcome measure for subjects with a negative and those... Studying the Safety and Determining the Optimal Dose of Novobiocin in Patients With Tumors That Have Alterations in DNA Repair Genes
Recruiting
This phase I trial tests the safety, side effects, and best dose of novobiocin in treating cancer patients with alterations in deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) repair genes. Novobiocin is an antibiotic that blocks the activity of a protein called DNA polymerase theta, which helps repair DNA that has become damaged as cells grow and divide. Cancer cells that cannot repair their damaged DNA die. This medication may help shrink or stabilize cancer with a mutation in DNA repair genes.

Brain Injury Education and Outpatient Navigation-1stBIEN
Recruiting
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a significant problem for U.S. Hispanic children. Compared to non-Hispanic children, Hispanic children have higher long-term disability and lower health related quality of life, even though differences are not present at hospital discharge. Rehabilitation decreases disability, but needs timely initiation, and long treatments in hospitals, community healthcare facilities and schools. Parents play a key role in their child's recovery. Hispanic parents face additiona... Read More
