The city of San Diego, California, currently has 89 active clinical trials seeking participants for Cancer research studies.
Evaluation of a Telehealth Oncofertility Care Intervention in Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Patients
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a multi-component intervention to improve young cancer survivors' engagement in goal-concordant oncofertility care, concurrently with observing and gathering information on how the intervention is implemented. The investigators hypothesize that implementation of the intervention will result in increased young cancer survivors' engagement in goal-concordant oncofertility care.

ART-Pro: Clinical Trial Evaluating Biparametric MRI and Advanced, Quantitative Diffusion MRI for Detection of Prostate Cancer
Recruiting
This is a multicenter, multinational trial to evaluate advanced MRI techniques for improved detection of clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa). The study will enroll 500 participants at 5 clinical centers (100 participants per center). The current standard MRI technique for prostate cancer screening is multiparametric MRI (mpMRI), but two drawbacks include need for intravenous (IV) contrast and dependence on radiologist expertise. The investigators expect that the combination of two oth... Read More

Study of Personalized Cancer Therapy to Determine Response and Toxicity
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to learn more about personalized cancer therapy including response to treatment and side effects. Information about the tests and treatments a person received, or will receive, for their cancer will be collected from medical records to help the researchers determine whether or not patients respond better when their physicians choose to treat them according to the genetic makeup of their tumor. Optional research tests may be performed on tissue, body cavity fluid, blo... Read More

Surveillance Colonoscopy in Older Adults: The SurvOlderAdults Study
Recruiting
Colorectal cancer is a leading cause of cancer death. Detection and removal of polyps can reduce risk for developing colorectal cancer. After finding and removing precancerous polyps, repeat colonoscopy is routinely recommended. However, it is unclear whether repeat additional colonoscopy further reduces risk for colorectal cancer. For older adults age 75 and older, the lack of this information is especially important, given that the risks of colonoscopy go up with age. This research will evalua... Read More

Next Generation Chest X-Ray Tomosynthesis for Screening of Lung Cancer
Recruiting
The goal of this observational clinical trial is to learn if chest tomosynthesis is a potential alternative to computed tomography for the detection of lung cancer. It will also develop artificial intelligence tools to aid in the diagnosis of lung cancer on chest tomosynthesis images. The main questions it aims to answer are: * What is the accuracy of chest X-ray tomosynthesis in diagnosing lung cancer in a population of individuals undergoing lung cancer screening or evaluation of a suspicious... Mobile Health for Adherence in Breast Cancer Patients
Recruiting
This clinical trial compares the use of the connected customized treatment platform (CONCURxP), consisting of using a medication monitoring device called WiseBag along with text message reminders for missed or extra medication events, to enhanced usual care (EUC), where patients only use the WiseBag, to monitor medication adherence in patients with metastatic breast cancer who are taking a CKD4/6 inhibitor. To ensure CDK4/6 inhibitors achieve their full clinical benefit, patients need to take th... Read More

Crizotinib in Treating Patients With Stage IB-IIIA Non-small Cell Lung Cancer That Has Been Removed by Surgery and ALK Fusion Mutations (An ALCHEMIST Treatment Trial)
Recruiting
This randomized phase III trial studies how well crizotinib works in treating patients with stage IB-IIIA non-small cell lung cancer that has been removed by surgery and has a mutation in a protein called anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK). Mutations, or changes, in ALK can make it very active and important for tumor cell growth and progression. Crizotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the ALK protein from working. Crizotinib may be an effective treatment for patients with non-sma... Read More
