This study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of intravesical administration of EG-70 in the bladder and its effect on bladder tumors in patients with NMIBC. This study study consists of two phases; a Phase 1 dose-escalation to establish safety and recommended the phase 2 dose, followed by a Phase 2 study to establish how effective the treatment is. The Study will include patients with NMIBC with Cis for whom BCG therapy is unresponsive and patients with NMIBC with Cis who are BCG-naïve or inadequately treated. Read Less

This is a prospective, open-label, multi-center seamless phase II to phase III randomized clinical trial designed to compare SST with or without PET-directed local therapy in improving the castration-resistant prostate cancer-free survival (CRPC-free survival) for Veterans with oligometastatic prostate cancer. Oligometastasis will be defined as 1-10 sites of metastatic disease based on the clinical determination of the LSI which incorporates all imaging, clinical, and pathologic data available. Read Less

This is a prospective, multicenter, open-label, randomized trial comparing mitral valve (MV) transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) to surgical repair (1:1 ratio) in patients with primary, degenerative mitral regurgitation (MR). The trial will be conducted in the U.S., Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom, and is designed as a strategy trial. The goal of this observational study is to characterize and evaluate micro- and nano-plastic (MNP) exposures among mothers and infants in mother-infant dyads 1 or 3 months postpartum living in Baltimore, Maryland. The main questions it aims to answer are: * What MNPs are present in breastmilk and maternal blood samples and in their infants stool sample? * Are there associations between amount of maternal MNPs in breast milk and mass of MNP particles in infant stool? * Which environmental and lifestyle factors are most predictive of maternal MNP burden? * Is infant exposure to MNPs associated with birth weight and postnatal growth trajectories? Participants will: * Complete several questionnaires assessing medical histories, lifestyle factors, environmental exposures, eating behaviors, etc. * Provide biological specimens including: maternal blood, stool, and breastmilk; infant stool * Clinical visit to have anthropometric measures documented including maternal height and weight, infant weight, length, and skin-fold thickness Read Less

Children undergoing surgery and anesthesia are often negatively impacted by anxiety and fear in the preoperative period. Routine inhalational anesthetic induction is a unique aspect of pediatric anesthesia. Inhalation inductions are usually initiated with sevoflurane with or without nitrous oxide. While less pungent than other volatile agents, sevoflurane at high concentrations and flows used for inhalation inductions still causes children to often repel from the smell. This can lead to an unpleasant interaction and cause heightened anxiety for any subsequent procedures. Olfactory senses are processed in the hippocampus and amygdala and tied to emotion and memory. Parosmia is the distortion of smell perception which can utilized to the pediatric anesthesiologists advantage. It has been demonstrated that using this phenomenon, the anesthesiologist can induce a better smell for the child leading to improved cooperation during an inhalation induction. However, limitations of this study include lack of randomization, small sample size, and use of a nominal scale of yes or no for face mask acceptance. The investigators identified no other studies to validate this potentially powerful tool to optimize anesthetic induction for pediatric patients. Participants eligible for the study will be randomly allocated (1:1:1) to receive either Luminopia dichoptic treatment while wearing optical correction if needed, Vivid Vision dichoptic treatment while wearing optical correction if needed, or continued optical correction alone if needed, with clinical assessments at 9- and 18-weeks post-randomization. At the 18-week primary outcome visit, participants who were randomly assigned to receive optical correction alone if needed with an IOD of 1 logMAR line (5 letters) or more, will be offered randomization to Luminopia or Vivid Vision dichoptic therapy and if they accept, followed forward with visits at 27- and 36-weeks post-randomization. This phase I/Ib trial tests the safety and best dose of ipatasertib in combination with the usual treatment approach using chemotherapy together with radiation therapy ("chemo-radiation") in patients with head and neck cancer. Ipatasertib is in a class of medications called protein kinase B (AKT) inhibitors. It may stop the growth of tumor cells and may kill them. Cisplatin which is a chemotherapy used in this trial is in a class of medications known as platinum-containing compounds. It works by killing, stopping or slowing the growth of cancer cells. Radiation therapy uses high energy to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Giving ipatasertib in combination with chemo-radiation may be better than chemo-radiation alone in treating patients with advanced head and neck cancer. Read Less
