The investigators will be evaluating bone marrow composition via magnetic resonance imaging in newly diagnosed adolescents with Crohn disease (CD) compared to healthy, matched controls. The investigators will also be assessing their bone mineral density via other imaging modalities, including dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry and peripheral quantitative computed tomography. This longitudinal project will focus on abnormalities in bone marrow composition, and specifically whether adolescents with newly diagnosed CD exhibit increased bone marrow fat, its association with bone mineral density (BMD) and the underlying pathophysiology, including bone turnover markers and immune cellular/molecular parameters. HeartShare is a comprehensive study of heart failure, a common and serious medical condition which occurs when the heart is unable to keep up with the demands of the body, resulting in shortness of breath, fluid retention, and fatigue. HeartShare aims to better classify heart failure into subtypes to help develop more personalized treatments for patients, with the hope that this will improve the lives of heart failure patients. To do this, HeartShare is bringing together a large amount of data (including images, such as heart ultrasounds and MRIs and molecular data from the blood, such as genetics) from previously conducted studies and electronic health records, and is gathering new data through participants enrolled in the HeartShare Deep Phenotyping Study. The purpose of this research is to learn if different behavioral interventions can change walking behaviors over 12-weeks, in older adults who have previously suffered a non-penetrating mild or moderate TBI. Participants will provide information and be screened for eligibility via phone screening call (verification of age, confirmation that the participant is not currently on any medication that affects the central nervous system, and verification that the subject can participate in exercise, brief TBI history). Baseline testing will take place at the Center for Cognitive and Brain Health and Northeastern University Biomedical Imaging Center, for the baseline magnetic resonance imaging, in the interdisciplinary science and engineering complex on Northeastern University's campus. In person testing will take place over one session. The study period lasts 12 weeks, during which all participants will 1. Receive a weekly phone call with study staff and 2. The purpose of this study is to learn the best approach to treating patients with known or suspected Barrett's esophagus by comparing endoscopic surveillance to endoscopic eradication therapy. To diagnose and manage Barrett's esophagus and low-grade dysplasia, doctors commonly use procedures called endoscopic surveillance and endoscopic eradication therapy. Endoscopic surveillance is a type of procedure where a physician will run a tube with a light and a camera on the end of it down the patients throat and remove a small piece of tissue. The piece of tissue, called a biopsy, is about the size of the tip of a ball-point pen and is checked for abnormal cells and cancer cells. Endoscopic eradication therapy is a kind of surgery which is performed to destroy the precancerous cells at the bottom of the esophagus, so that healthy cells can grow in their place. It involves procedures to either remove precancerous tissue or burn it. These procedures can have side effects, so it is not certain whether risking those side effects is worth the benefit people get from the treatments. While both of these procedures are widely accepted approaches to managing the condition, there is not enough research to show if one is better than the other. Barrett's esophagus and low-grade dysplasia does not always worsen to high-grade dysplasia and/or cancer. In fact, it usually does not. So, if a patient's dysplasia is not worsening, doctors would rather not put patients at risk unnecessarily. On the other hand, endoscopic eradication therapy could possibly prevent the worsening of low-grade dysplasia into high-grade dysplasia or cancer (esophageal adenocarcinoma) in some patients. Researchers believe that the results of this study will help doctors choose the safest and most effective procedure for their patients with Barrett's esophagus and low-grade dysplasia. This is a multicenter study involving several academic, community and private hospitals around the United States. Up to 530 participants will be randomized. This study will also include a prospective observational cohort study of up to 150 Barrett's esophagus and low grade dysplasia patients who decline randomization in the randomized control trial but undergo endoscopic surveillance (Cohort 1) or endoscopic eradication therapy (Cohort 2), and are willing to provide longitudinal observational data. Oral HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is a highly effective HIV prevention modality that requires individuals to take a daily tablet to prevent themselves acquiring HIV. In South Africa while this is freely available in the public sector, persistence (that is continuation after initiation) is low amongst vulnerable populations, including men who have sex with men (MSM). This study is a feasibility and acceptability study of a behavioral economics informed intervention to improve persistence amongst MSM newly initiating PrEP in South Africa. The goal of this study is to show that this approach is possible in a routine setting and gather the necessary data for a fully powered effectiveness trial. Study participants will complete a baseline questionnaire and then be randomized to either receive standard of care (control) or to receive the intervention. The intervention package consists of evidence informed reminders, commitment pledges and planning prompts. The intervention package aims to address present bias, optimism bias and salience. The intervention is delivered and the enrollment visit and then through mobile phone reminders / text messages. There is no further in person interaction after the initial interaction. Participants may be contacted for a telephonic enplane questionnaire. Outcome data is obtained from passive followup through routine medical record review with the primary end point being persistence at 3 months. Read Less
