Effects of Neuromodulation in Laryngeal Dystonia
Recruiting
Laryngeal dystonia (LD) causes excessive vocal fold abduction (opening) or adduction (closing) leading to decreased voice quality, job prospects, self-worth and quality of life. Individuals with LD often experience episodic breathy voice, decreased ability to sustain vocal fold vibration, frequent pitch breaks and in some cases, vocal tremor. While neuroimaging investigations have uncovered both cortical organization and regional connectivity differences in structures in parietal, primary somato... Read More

Natural History Study of Synucleinopathies
Recruiting
Synucleinopathies are a group of rare diseases associated with worsening neurological deficits and the abnormal accumulation of the protein α-synuclein in the nervous system. Onset is usually in late adulthood at age 50 or older. Usually, synucleinopathies present clinically with slowness of movement, coordination difficulties or mild cognitive impairment. Development of these features indicates that abnormal alpha-synuclein deposits have destroyed key areas of the brain involved in the control... Read More

Medication Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder in Expectant Mothers: Infant Neurodevelopmental Outcomes Sub-study
Recruiting
This is a sub-study of NIDA CTN Protocol 0080: Medication Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder in Expectant Mothers (MOMs; Unique protocol ID: 2019-0429-1). Caretakers of the infants delivered by MOMs participants will be offered the opportunity to enroll in this sub-study, which is designed to evaluate the impact of extended-release buprenorphine (BUP-XR), relative to sublingual buprenorphine (BUP-SL), on infant neurodevelopment. The additional data collected in this sub-study will be combined wit... Read More

Biobehavioral Efficacy of the Semi-Elevated Side-Lying Position
Recruiting
The objective of the proposed research is to conduct a within-subject cross-over trial that will compare the efficacy of the two bottle-feeding positions on physiologic and behavioral responses of preterm infants prior to, during, and after feeding. As an exploratory aim, the investigators will also identify potential infant characteristics associated with the intervention response by evaluating infant sex, maturity level, and/or comorbidity. The two bottle-feeding positions will be the semi-ele... Read More

Impact of Intravenous Iron Repletion On Mechanisms of Exercise InTolerance in HFpEF (IRONMET-HFpEF)
Recruiting
The primary objective of this study is to determine if the correction of functional iron deficiency by administering a single dose of intravenous iron (ferric derimaltose or Monoferric®) in participants with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) will improve exercise capacity as measured by the change in peak oxygen uptake (peak VO2) from baseline to 12 weeks.

Shwachman Diamond Syndrome Registry and Study
Recruiting
Shwachman-Diamond syndrome (SDS) is a genetic condition characterized by bone marrow failure, medical co-morbidities, and leukemia predisposition. SDS-Like patients share clinical features with SDS but lack mutations in known SDS genes. Since SDS/SDS-Like syndromes are rare diseases, data are sparse regarding the clinical features, natural history, clinical outcomes with current management, and treatment. For this reason, the SDS Registry was formed to collect clinical data from medical records... Read More

Bladder Fiducial Markers and Multiparametric-MRI (Mp-MRI) to Optimize Bladder Chemo-radiotherapy
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to examine the usefulness of implanting small 24-K gold fiducial markers around a bladder tumor site, so that a Radiation Oncologist can identify the original tumor location at the time of radiation treatment. Other goals of the study include assessing whether a new MRI imaging technology can help with detection of bladder cancer earlier and more accurately when evidence of bladder cancer is not visible by scope.
