Pragmatic Trial of Remote tDCS and Somatosensory Training for Phantom Limb Pain With Machine Learning to Predict Treatment Response
Recruiting
The investigators have designed a pragmatic trial of home-based transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) for phantom limb pain (PLP), the PLP-EVEREST trial (PLP-EffectiVEness pRagmatic Stimulation Trial) to test a portable device that would reach underrepresented populations and would validate this therapy in a more pragmatic setting. Subjects will be randomized to home-based tDCS of the primary motor cortex (M1) with somatosensory training or usual care only (including their current pharm... Read More

Optimization and Multi-Site Feasibility of Yoga for Chronic Pain in People in YOGAMAT-II - Phase II
Recruiting
Phase 2 - Multiphase Optimization Strategy (MOST) Optimization Phase: To conduct a factorial experiment that will allow us to evaluate the impact of each of the 4 intervention components on yoga dosage received. We will enroll a total n=192. All participants will receive the core yoga intervention, with random assignment to the four intervention components outlined above. Use results from Phase 2 to choose an efficient combination of intervention components that, together with standard yoga cla... Read More

Training in Evidence-based Treatments in Psycho-Oncology
Recruiting
The goal of this research study is to train psychotherapists to administer individualized evidence-based psychotherapies in a cancer care setting to participants with elevated levels of distress due to their illness and/or treatment. The intervention will mirror clinical care in psycho-oncology in which the therapist, collaboratively with their supervisor, will choose specific components of the following evidence-based treatments to administer based on the clinical presentation of the patient a... A Phase 2 Study of RTA 901 in Patients With Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain (CYPRESS)
Recruiting
This is a 2-part, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind, Phase 2 study to evaluate the safety, tolerability, efficacy, and PK of RTA 901 in qualified subjects with DPNP. Each study part will be randomized into 3 treatment arms; 2 different doses of RTA 901 and a Placebo. The doses of RTA 901 in Part 2 will be selected based on the Exposure-Response (E-R) analyses of data from Part 1. A total of 384 subjects will be randomized in this study. Each part will have 192 subjects, with 64 subjec... Read More

Continuous Erector Spinae Block Versus Continuous Paravertebral Block
Recruiting
Overall Aim: To evaluate the efficacy of continuous erector spinae block (ESB) versus continuous paravertebral block (PVB) for postoperative analgesia in children and adolescents undergoing surgical procedures via unilateral thoracotomy. Hypothesis: The investigators hypothesize that ESP block efficacy is not inferior to that of PVB with respect to pain control and consumed opiate equivalents at 24 hours postoperatively.

The Effect of a Technology-Mediated Integrated Walking and Tai Chi Intervention on Physical Function in Veterans With COPD and Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain
Recruiting
Persons with COPD benefit from being physically active, but they are often limited by chronic musculoskeletal pain. This project will determine whether a non-pharmacologic, integrated, technology-mediated walking and Tai Chi mindfulness intervention can improve physical function in Veterans with COPD and chronic musculoskeletal pain. The proposed research addresses VA Rehabilitation R&D Service's high priority area of improving health-related quality of life by reducing disease burden and maximi... Read More
