This phase II trial studies how well low-dose radiotherapy works in treating bone pain in patients with multiple myeloma that has spread to the bone. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays, gamma rays, neutrons, protons, or other sources to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Low-dose radiotherapy may be more convenient for patients and their families, may not interfere as much with the timing of chemotherapy, and may have less chance for short term or long-term side effects from the radiation. The goal of this pilot randomized controlled trial is to test the feasibility of running a full scale randomized controlled trial that compares the effect of the PQ-ResPOND intervention versus usual care to improve recurrent pain in children, adolescents, and young adults with severe neurologic impairment. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Is the study feasible and acceptable for participants? * Does PQ-ResPOND have a potential to be effective? Participants will: * answer surveys (their parents will) telling us about the child's pain, symptoms, and use of complementary therapies, and about their own psychological distress and satisfaction with care. * a group will receive the PQ-ResPOND intervention which consists of: * activating parents and providers by using the PediQUEST system, a web platform that administers surveys and generates feedback reports alerting parents and providers about the child's experience, AND * responding to child pain or discomfort by incorporating the Response team (members of the hospital's palliative care team) into the child's care to privde a standardized approach to managing recurrent pain. Researchers will use a comparison (control) group consisting of participants who will answer surveys and receive usual care (no feedback reports or consult with palliative care in this group) to see if a randomized design is feasible. During breast surgery, sensory nerves are cut which may lead to reduced sensation and pain. Surgical reinnervation techniques have been developed with the aim of improving postoperative sensation by preserving the nerves and connecting them to the nipple and areola. The investigators aim to compare postoperative sensation and patient reported outcomes in patients undergoing reinnervation versus those not undergoing reinnervation to determine if there is a difference. The investigators will investigate this in patients undergoing gender-affirming mastectomy, implant-based breast reconstruction and autologous breast reconstruction. Many people living with cystic fibrosis (CF) experience pain. However, pain is sometimes unrecognized and under-managed in people with CF. Both medication and non-medication interventions can be used to treat pain and ideally, there is a multicomponent management approach. The goal of this study is to pilot a new 3-session non-medication mind-body pain management intervention specifically designed for adults with cystic fibrosis (CF). The intervention is titled Pain Acknowledgement Coping and Empowerment in CF (PACE CF). PACE CF will be administered by a member of the CF care team via telehealth visits to participants at home or during a hospitalization. The aim of the study is to evaluate the feasibility and patient acceptability of the intervention as well as preliminary evidence of the impact of the intervention on pain and its interference in daily life. Pain has been identified as among the most frequent presenting medical complaints, in particular within primary care for Veterans. There are few areas of daily living and functioning that pain intensity does not impact, with reported pain intensity related to difficulties in social situations and changes in activities of daily life, sleep, and appetite. Therapeutic interventions such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Chronic Pain (ACT-CP) that target issues related to the cognitions and emotional concerns related to chronic pain have been well-documented for reduction of associated psychiatric symptoms and modest pain relief. At the same time, online programming can improve the ability of pain psychoeducation programs and ACT-CP to reach patients. The proposed project will compare online Veteran ACT for Chronic Pain (VACT-CP) compared to another pain program, Online Pain School, to evaluate how they assist Veterans with chronic pain to improve their functioning, pain management, and quality of life. This research study will evaluate the effectiveness of utilizing Battlefield Acupuncture (BFA) on veterans with with a history of substance use disorder and chronic pain for 8 weeks. Primary Aim: The primary aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of using BFA to treat chronic pain in veterans with a history of substance use disorder. Secondary Aim: This study will also evaluate the impact that BFA treatment for pain may have on subjects' stress, mood and sleep patterns over 8 weeks. In addition, each subject will be complete behavioral research tools to measure: depression, anxiety, and substance use at 3 different points in this study. This study is being done to see if nitrous oxide during vasectomy decreases pain and anxiety, and also assess whether patients have better satisfaction when they control their own level of nitrous oxide during the procedure. If we find that patients experience less pain or anxiety with nitrous oxide, it could be suggested that self-adjusted nitrous oxide (SANO) may be a useful tool for improving experience of care during vasectomy. Chronic pain and heavy drinking are common co-occurring conditions among patients presenting to primary care settings. Given their impact on functioning and medical outcomes, there would be considerable benefit to developing an accessible, easily utilized, integrative approach to reduce alcohol use and pain that can be readily incorporated into the health care settings. The objective of this study is to test a modified version of a smartphone-based intervention for reducing pain and alcohol use among individuals experiencing chronic pain who engage in heavy drinking. The primary goal is to test the feasibility and acceptability of implementing this intervention in a sample that includes participants from rural areas and providing initial data on the utility of the intervention. The goal of this study is to determine if a mind-body intervention can help people suffering from chronic back pain. The study is a randomized, partially blinded trial examining the effectiveness of a mind body intervention in reducing disability from back pain and alleviating back pain in participants as compared to usual care and an active control (second mind body intervention).
