Clinical Research for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency–Associated Liver Disease

The Redwood Study is currently enrolling adults 18 to 75 years of age with Alpha-1
Liver Disease. The purpose of the study is to evaluate how safe and effective an
investigational study drug is compared to a placebo (both groups will receive
injections, but the placebo contains no active medication) in the treatment of liver
disease. If you or any of your family members have a confirmed or suspected
diagnosis of Alpha-1 Liver Disease, you may be eligible.

The aim of this study is to assess whether IW-3300 is safe and works for the treatment of interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS). The main question the study aims to answer is whether IW-3300 helps bladder pain and other symptoms (for example, bladder burning, pressure and discomfort). Subjects will be assigned to receive either the study drug or placebo by chance.

T-reg Function Changes: a Novel Immune Regulatory Effect Underlying Benefit of Statin Use on Lethal Prostate Cancer

This study will evaluate whether simvastatin reduces intraprostatic immunosuppressive microenvironment through YAP-mediated T-reg dysfunction, and increases intraprostatic anti-tumor immune response in men recently diagnosed with localized prostate cancer electing to receive prostatectomy for their care. Half the men will be randomized to receive statins for 8 weeks prior to their surgery, while the other half will receive standard of care.
