The brain is protected from any toxic or inflammatory molecule by the blood-brain barrier (BBB). This physical barrier is located at the level of the blood vessel walls. Because of these barrier properties, the blood vessels are also impermeable to the passage of therapeutic molecules from the blood to the brain. The development of effective treatments against glioblastoma is thus limited due to the BBB that prevents most drugs injected in the bloodstream from getting into brain tissue where the tumour is seated. The SonoCloud-9 (SC9) is an investigational device using ultrasound technology and specially developed to open the BBB in the area of and surrounding the tumour. The transient opening of the BBB allows more drugs to reach the brain tumour tissue. Carboplatin is a chemotherapy that is approved to treat different cancer types alone or in combination with other drugs, and has been used in the treatment of glioblastoma. Despite its proven efficacy in the laboratory on glioblastoma cells, carboplatin does not readily cross the BBB in humans. A clinical trial has shown that in combination with the SonoCloud-9, more carboplatin can reach the brain tumour tissue. The objective of the proposed trial is to show that the association - carboplatin with the SonoCloud-9 - will increase efficacy of the drug in patients with recurrent glioblastoma. Read Less

This is a global, multi-center, prospective, randomized, blinded, controlled pivotal study. Clinical and radiological evaluation will be performed preoperatively and postoperatively up to 24 months; and endpoint success will be determined at 24 months postoperatively. The primary objectives of Cohort A Phase 1b are to evaluate the safety and tolerability of TTI-101 orally administered as a single agent to participants with locally advanced or metastatic, and unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) and to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and/or recommended Phase 2 dose (RP2D) of TTI-101 as a single agent. TITRE - Trial of Indication-based Transfusion of Red Blood Cells in ECMO, is a multicenter, prospective, randomized clinical trial. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term safety and tolerability, of open label iptacopan in primary IgA nephropathy participants who have completed either the CLNP023X2203 or CLNP023A2301 clinical trials. The open-label design of the current study is appropriate to provide study participants the opportunity to receive treatment with iptacopan until marketing authorizations are received and the drug product becomes commercially available while enabling collection of long-term safety and tolerability data for the investigational drug. This phase II trial compares the effect of immunotherapy (pembrolizumab) plus chemotherapy (doxorubicin) to chemotherapy (doxorubicin) alone in treating patients with undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (UPS) or a related poorly differentiated sarcoma that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to other places in the body (metastatic) or that cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). Doxorubicin is in a class of medications called anthracyclines. Doxorubicin damages the cell's DNA and may kill tumor cells. It also blocks a certain enzyme needed for cell division and DNA repair. A monoclonal antibody is a type of protein that can bind to certain targets in the body, such as molecules that cause the body to make an immune response (antigens). Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Adding immunotherapy (pembrolizumab) to the standard chemotherapy (doxorubicin) may help patients with metastatic or unresectable UPS or a related poorly differentiated sarcoma live longer without having disease progression.
