Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a disease characterized by chronic airway infection and impaired mucociliary clearance, which predisposes those affected to recurrent pulmonary exacerbations (PEx) and progressive decline in lung function. Treatment with elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (ETI) results in decreases in patient-reported cough and PEx. Despite this, increased cough remains the most common symptom associated with acute PEx and worsening lung disease. Cough frequency was historically difficult to measure due to reliance on human input. Recent advances in audio capture and signal processing have made automated cough detection possible. As a result there's been a surge in development of portable cough monitors, as cough is increasingly recognized as a measurable parameter of respiratory disease. The majority of cough monitors have been designed for use in adults, and little is known about the practicality of collecting cough data in the pediatric population. In this study investigators aim to assess the feasibility of using an in-home device to capture nighttime cough frequency in children with and without CF. Investigators plan to compare nighttime cough frequency between children with and without CF and, among children with CF, and determine the association between cough frequency and baseline lung function. Additionally, investigators aim to evaluate the changes in nighttime cough frequency in relationship to respiratory symptom scores surrounding clinician diagnosed pulmonary exacerbations. This study will provide important preliminary data needed for a larger study assessing the utility of home cough monitoring for clinical care and for use of cough as a clinical outcome measure in research studies. This is a prospective, non-interventional (observational) cohort study conducted within the medical network of the participating investigators and institutions. Medical scientists want to find better ways to treat neuroblastoma and to find ways to prevent the tumor from growing back. To do this, they need more information about the characteristics of neuroblastoma cells. Therefore, they want to study samples of neuroblastoma tissues and neuroblastoma and normal cells in the blood and bone marrow that may be related to the growth of neuroblastoma cells. The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about the use of incentives in pediatric patients requiring medical procedures. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Are incentives effective at reducing pediatric anxiety for medical procedures? * What is the best way to use incentives with pediatric populations requiring medical procedures? Participants will be provided support in preparation for their procedure and during the procedure by a child life specialist and might receive an incentive prize after their procedure. Participants distress levels during the procedure will be observed and they will be asked to rate their anxiety on a visual analog scale. Researchers will compare the anxiety of those who did or did not receive an incentive after their procedure to see if incentives reduced procedural anxiety. Read Less

The Epilepsy Learning Health System (ELHS) is a quality improvement and research network to improve outcomes for people with epilepsy. The ELHS is designed as a model of value-based chronic care for epilepsy as envisioned by the National Academies of Medicine Committee in their landmark reports "The Learning Health System" and "Epilepsy Across the Spectrum: Promoting Health and Understanding". The ELHS network is a collaboration among clinicians, patients and researchers that promotes the use of data for multiple purposes including one-on-one clinical care, population management, quality improvement and research. The ELHS Registry includes data on children and adults with epilepsy collected during the process of standard epilepsy care. These data are used to create population health reports and to track changes in outcomes over time. Management of ACLF is mainly supportive. The poor outcomes lead physicians to consider liver transplantation as an option, even if controversial. In sicker recipients, LT results in immediate survival, but poor medium-term survival rates in some studies. The scarcity of deceased donors obliges to maximize LT success. Alternative strategies, as living-donor LT, should be explored. This is a 10-year multi-center, prospective, longitudinal, single arm study evaluating immunologic, inflammatory and laboratory parameters associated with long-term Palynziq treatment in subjects with phenylketonuria (PKU) in the United States (US). Subjects in the US for whom a clinical decision has been made that they will receive pegvaliase to treat their PKU within 30 days following the date of enrollment in Study 165-501 (incident-users) or who have previously started treatment with pegvaliase at the date of enrollment in Study 165-501 (prevalent-users) are eligible for participation in Study 165-503. Poor quality of primary care providers' vaccine recommendations lead to low adolescent human papillomavirus vaccination rates and hundreds of thousands of adolescents unnecessarily at risk for HPV-associated cancers and diseases. Though a previous provider communication intervention, called PCOM, was found to be effective for increasing adolescent HPV vaccination in primary care, its dissemination is limited by the need for significant research team involvement to teach providers how to use the intervention's components. To address this, investigators propose to develop and test a virtual version of PCOM, use mixed methods to assess contextual factors affecting its use compared to the original PCOM intervention, and develop an optimized version of PCOM for broad dissemination to increase adolescent HPV vaccination nationally. The risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) is significantly elevated in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Notably, women with CKD commonly experience menstrual disturbances induced by CKD, which may contribute to impaired vascular function and elevated CVD risk. However, most of the literature in the field of nephrology focuses on male patients, and studies on women's vascular health are limited. Moreover, endogenous sex hormones, particularly estradiol, are well-documented to be cardioprotective in women without CKD; however, the role of sex hormones on vascular function in women with CKD remains unclear. The goals of the proposed project are: 1) to evaluate vasuclar function in pre- and post-menopausal women with CKD vs. age-matched healthy women; 2) to evaluate sex hormone concentrations and determine whether they associate with vascular function in the proposed cohort; and 3) to gain mechanistic insight on the association between sex hormones and vascular dysfunction in the proposed cohort.
