Cancer Paid Clinical Trials in Florida

ARGONAUT is a longitudinal, prospective, observational study that will enroll up to 5,000 advanced-stage cancer patients of diverse racial backgrounds to collect data used to develop precision microbiome medicines and for the identification of clinically actionable cancer-specific biomarkers to guide therapeutic decisions. Four types of solid tumor cancers will be profiled including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), colorectal cancer (CRC) and pancreatic cancer. Healthy control subjects without a cancer diagnosis will also be studied, comprised of individuals at high risk for CRC and healthy individuals at low risk for CRC. Risk assessment will be based on family history or past neoplastic findings during CRC screening. Data collected from this study will be used to develop the most effective new therapies, via microbiome optimization, all to the benefit of patients and the physicians treating them. Stool and blood samples will be collected longitudinally and analyzed to determine the impact of gut microbiome composition and function on the immune system and efficacy of the treatment. Currently enrolling the CRC, high risk, and low risk cohorts. Subjects who meet the entry criteria will provide up to 5 samples each of blood and stool over a 2-year period. Approximately 10%-20% of the subjects will provide colon tissue samples, either from research biopsies during Standard of Care (SOC) screening colonoscopy or retained surgical tissue from colectomy. Electronic health records will be obtained at various times for up to 8 years, to collect tumor imaging results and any other updated medical data, with no additional samples collected. This phase II trial studies the effect of the combination of ramucirumab and trifluridine/tipiracil or paclitaxel in treating patients with previously treated gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer that has spread to other places in the body (advanced). Ramucirumab may damage tumor cells by targeting new blood vessel formation. Trifluridine/tipiracil is a chemotherapy pill and that may damage tumor cells by damaging their deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Paclitaxel may block cell growth by stopping cell division which may kill tumor cells. Giving ramucirumab and trifluridine/tipiracil will not be worse than ramucirumab and paclitaxel in treating gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer. Read Less

This phase I trial is designed in two parts. First as an open-label, dose escalation trial of MEM-288 monotherapy in which investigators aim to find the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and recommended phase II dose (RP2D). Subjects with selected solid tumors including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have a tumor lesion which is accessible for injection will undergo intratumoral injection of MEM-288. Following completion of the monotherapy study portion of the study, an expansion arm is designed to test MEM-288 with concurrent anti-PD-1 (nivolumab) therapy for patients with first relapsed or refractory advanced/metastatic NSCLC following front-line anti-PD-1/PD-L1 with or without concurrent chemotherapy. The study rationale is that the oncolytic effect of MEM-288 combined with the presence of CD40L and type 1 interferon (IFN) in injected tumors will provide a strong signal for dendritic cell (DC)-mediated T cell activation leading to generation of systemic anti-tumor T cell responses with broad specificity akin to what is observed in the abscopal effect. Further study rationale is the anti-tumor effect of MEM-288 will be enhanced by nivolumab by reversing T cell exhaustion. Read Less

The primary objective of this study is to obtain de-identified stool specimens from participants with colonoscopic biopsy-based histopathologic diagnosis of colorectal cancer (CRC) and/or a ≥1 cm colorectal polyp/adenoma/mass found during pre-enrollment colonoscopy that is of sufficient size to require surgical excision or complex colonoscopic polypectomy. This is an observational case-control study to train and validate a genome-wide methylome enrichment platform to detect multiple cancer types and to differentiate amongst cancer types. The cancers included in this study are brain, breast, bladder, cervical, colorectal, endometrial, esophageal, gastric, head and neck, hepatobiliary, leukemia, lung, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate, renal, sarcoma, and thyroid. These cancers were selected based on their prevalence and mortality to maximize impact on clinical care. Additionally, the ability of the whole-genome methylome enrichment platform to detect minimal residual disease after completion of cancer treatment and to detect relapse prior to clinical presentation will be evaluated in four cancer types (breast, colorectal, lung, prostate).
