Georgia is currently home to 1996 active clinical trials, seeking participants for engagement in research studies. These trials take place at a variety of cities in the state, including Atlanta, Augusta, Decatur and Savannah. Whether you're a healthy volunteer interested in paid medical research or someone seeking trials related to a specific condition, the state offers a diverse array of opportunities in your vicinity.
Safety and Immunogenicity of an Intranasal Vaccine for Respiratory Syncytial Virus in Seronegative Children 6-36 Months
Recruiting
This study evaluates an investigational vaccine that is designed to protect humans against infection with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and is administered as a nasal spray. Specifically, the study analyzes the safety of, and the immune response to, the vaccine when administered to healthy children between the ages of 6 and 24 months who are seronegative to RSV.

Osteotomy Accuracy Using Mixed Reality Assisted Navigation
Recruiting
An osteotomy is a standard surgical operation in which one or more bones are cut or lengthened or re-shaped. While planning for osteotomy, the surgeon sometimes uses a custom-manufactured cutting guide. The investigators are testing a relatively new approach called mixed reality navigation in planning this surgery in this study. For the purpose of this study, the investigators will compare the accuracy of performing osteotomies with the aid of mixed reality navigation as compared to osteotomies... Read More

Electronic Mobile Phone App Stool Diary
Recruiting
Our objective here is to improve the patient's compliance and accurate capture of patient reported bowel and abdominal symptoms, by utilizing a phone application that interactively records each bowel movement or leakage event and other bowel symptoms. Such an electronic stool diary may relieve the burden of using a paper daily stool diary. We will compare and validate the electronic stool diary with the paper stool diary.

Translumbosacral Neuromodulation for FI
Recruiting
Fecal Incontinence (FI) affects 40 million Americans, predominantly women and elderly. It is a major health care burden, significantly impairs quality of life and psychosocial function. FI is characterized by multifactorial dysfunction including lumbosacral neuropathy, anorectal sensori-motor dysfunction, and abnormal pelvic floor-brain innervation. A critical barrier to progress in the treatment of FI is the lack of RCTs, absence of mechanistically based non-invasive therapies that modify disea... Read More

Thoracic Neuromodulation for Diabetic Gastroparesis
Recruiting
The global incidence of diabetes is rising. Gastroparesis is a significant complication of diabetes that results in debilitating symptoms and affects quality of life. Current treatment options for diabetic gastroparesis are limited. Significant visceral afferent neuropathy is associated with diabetic gastroparesis and sympathetic overactivity is seen in nausea, both type 1 and 2 diabetes, and diabetic complications. These dysfunctions can result from neuropathy affecting the thoracic spinal nerv... Read More

CSD200902: Assessment of Indoor Air Quality for a Heated Tobacco Product With Four Non-Combusted Cigarette Variants in an Environmental Testing Chamber
Recruiting
This is a single-center, open-label, parallel-cohort study to measure and compare the levels of selected secondhand smoke (SHS) constituents of a heated tobacco product (HTP) against combustible cigarettes (CC) after ad libitum smoking sessions by generally healthy smokers in an environmental testing chamber (ETC). Evaluation of SHS constituents detected during non-smoking sessions will be performed as a control.

Maintenance Obinutuzumab in Treating Patients With Central Nervous System Lymphoma Who Have Achieved a Complete or Partial Response
Recruiting
This randomized phase II trial studies how well obinutuzumab works as maintenance treatment in patients with central nervous system lymphoma who have achieved the disappearance of all signs of cancer in response to treatment (complete response) or a decrease in the size of a tumor, or in the extent of cancer in the body, in response to treatment (partial response). Immunotherapy with obinutuzumab, may induce changes in body's immune system and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to gro... Read More
