The Accuracy of a Novel Platelet Activity Assay in Humans on Antiplatelet Agents: Pharmacodynamics and Comparison with Light Transmission Aggregometry
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to test a novel diagnostic immunoassay of platelet function and compare it to the current gold standard platelet function assay by testing the response to aspirin and clopidogrel in a group of healthy volunteers and severely obese individuals and comparing the accuracy of the two tests. The secondary goals will be to evaluate the pharmacodynamic parameters of the antiplatelet agents across the two testing modalities and refine the cutoffs used for the novel assay.

Effects of Neuromodulation in Laryngeal Dystonia
Recruiting
Laryngeal dystonia (LD) causes excessive vocal fold abduction (opening) or adduction (closing) leading to decreased voice quality, job prospects, self-worth and quality of life. Individuals with LD often experience episodic breathy voice, decreased ability to sustain vocal fold vibration, frequent pitch breaks and in some cases, vocal tremor. While neuroimaging investigations have uncovered both cortical organization and regional connectivity differences in structures in parietal, primary somato... Read More

Orchidopexy Randomized Clinical Assessment
Recruiting
This is a randomized trial designed to evaluate testicular outcomes after a single stage versus a two-stage surgical procedure to fix an undescended, one-sided testicle located in the abdomen. Also to determine and compare the costs, surgical complications and the health related quality of life for the two procedures. Testicular outcomes will be measured using a scrotal ultrasound 6-12 months after the procedure (after the second stage procedure for those randomized to a 2 stage surgery).
