Montana Clinical Trials

A listing of Montana clinical trials actively recruiting patient volunteers.

One of the most rugged and geographically diverse states, Montana's landscape is defined by the Rocky Mountains and Great Plains. Cities include Helena, Billings, Bozeman, and Missoula. Smaller "mountain towns" nestled within the state's alpine ranges drive its skiing industry. Glacier National Park is one of the most popular parks in the United States, offering unparalleled vies of the Rockies. The state is equally famous for its buffalo and deer and for the abundant gold that sparked its settlement. The nonprofit Billings Clinic serves Montana, Wyoming, and the Dakotas, ensuring that even residents in remote areas can access quality care.

Molecular Basis of Human Phagocyte Interactions With Bacterial Pathogens

NCT00339287

Human phagocytic cells such as polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) are readily mobilized to sites of infection and ingest microorganisms by a process known as phagocytosis. The combined effects of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and proteolytic peptides and enzymes released into forming bacterial phagosomes kill most ingested bacteria. However, many human bacterial pathogens have devised means to subvert normal phagocyte responses and the innate immune response and cause severe disease. The overa ...

The ICGG Gaucher Registry is an ongoing, international multi-center, strictly observational program that tracks the routine clinical outcomes for patients with Gaucher disease, irrespective of treatment status. No experimental intervention is involved; patients in the Registry undergo clinical assessments and receive care as determined by the patient's treating physician. The objectives of the Registry are: To enhance understanding of the variability, progression, identification, and natural h ...

Psoriasis Longitudinal Assessment and Registry

NCT00508547

The purpose of this study is to further evaluate the safety of infliximab, ustekinumab, and guselkumab in patients with plaque and other forms of psoriasis. The study also includes patients receiving other therapies, such as non-biologic and other biologic agents. The registry also evaluates patient and disease characteristics, including patient-reported assessment of psoriatic arthritis (PsA); and clinical and quality of life outcomes.

Diet and Physical Activity Change or Usual Care in Improving Progression-Free Survival in Patients With Previously Treated Stage II, III, or IV Ovarian, Fallopian Tube, or Primary Peritoneal Cancer

NCT00719303

This randomized phase III trial studies whether changes in diet and physical activity can increase the length of survival without the return of cancer (progression-free survival) compared with usual care in patients with previously treated stage II, III, or IV ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer. A healthy diet and physical activity program and counseling may help patients make healthier lifestyle choices. It is not yet known whether changes in diet and exercise may help increa ...

Radiation Therapy With Concomitant and Adjuvant Temozolomide Versus Radiation Therapy With Adjuvant PCV Chemotherapy in Patients With Anaplastic Glioma or Low Grade Glioma

NCT00887146

Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as temozolomide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. It is not yet known whether giving radiation with concomitant and adjuvant temozolomide versus radiation with adjuvant PCV is more effective in treating anaplastic glioma or low grade glioma.

CA-IX, p16, Proliferative Markers, and HPV in Diagnosing Cervical Lesions in Patients With Abnormal Cervical Cells

NCT00892866

This research trial studies carbonic anhydrase 9 (CA-IX), p16, proliferative markers, and human papilloma virus (HPV) in diagnosing cervical lesions in patients with abnormal cervical cells. Studying biomarkers in abnormal cervical cells may improve the ability to find cervical lesions and plan effective treatment.

NCT01101451

This randomized phase III trial studies radiation therapy with chemotherapy to see how well they work compared to radiation therapy alone in treating patients with stage I-IIA cervical cancer who previously underwent surgery. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not ...
