Oregon Clinical Trials

A listing of Oregon clinical trials actively recruiting patient volunteers.

Perhaps best known to generations of children for the Oregon Trail, a nearly 2,200-mile wagon route from Missouri to Oregon, the trail's terminus of Oregon City remains one of the state's largest cities today. Its capital is Salem, while its other big cities include Portland and Eugene. The state borders the Pacific Ocean, while the Columbia River forms its northern border with Washington. These days it is increasingly staking out a reputation as a regional leader on the healthcare front. The 552-bed Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Beaverton, OR is the state's largest largest facility for acute patient care.

I-SPY TRIAL: Neoadjuvant and Personalized Adaptive Novel Agents to Treat Breast Cancer

NCT01042379

The purpose of this study is to further advance the ability to practice personalized medicine by learning which new drug agents are most effective with which types of breast cancer tumors and by learning more about which early indicators of response (tumor analysis prior to surgery via magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images along with tissue and blood samples) are predictors of treatment success.

Conditions: Breast Neoplasms, Breast Cancer, Breast Tumors, Angiosarcoma, TNBC - Triple-Negative Breast Cancer, HER2-positive Breast Cancer, HER2-negative Breast Cancer, Hormone Receptor Positive Tumor, Hormone Receptor Negative Tumor, Early-stage Breast Cancer, Locally Advanced Breast Cancer

Radiation Therapy With or Without Chemotherapy in Patients With Stage I-IIA Cervical Cancer Who Previously Underwent Surgery

NCT01101451

This randomized phase III trial studies radiation therapy with chemotherapy to see how well they work compared to radiation therapy alone in treating patients with stage I-IIA cervical cancer who previously underwent surgery. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not ...

Web Based Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Registry

NCT01191151

The purpose of this study is to establish an international, web based clinical registry to collect baseline characteristics of patients undergoing orthopaedic, sports medicine, arthroscopy, and related surgery, and the subsequent outcomes and cost-effectiveness associated with the surgical procedures and nonoperative treatments.

Safety and Efficacy Evaluation of Oxybutynin Topical Gel In Children With Neurogenic Bladder

NCT01192568

This study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of Oxybutynin Chloride 10% Topical Gel in children 3 to less than 17 years old, who have overactive bladder due to a neurogenic condition. Children will be treated with 0.75 g of gel/day for two weeks. Patients will then return to the clinic for a potential dose titration. At this time their dose may be adjusted up to 1g/day, down to 0.5g/day, or remain the same at 0.75g of gel/day depending on the individual response and tolerability. The total t ...

Optical Coherence Tomography Guided Transepithelial Phototherapeutic Keratectomy

NCT01243931

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) machines are non-contact instruments that can measure the depth of scars and other causes of cloudiness in the front of the cornea. The purpose of this study is to determine whether OCT-guided settings for the lasers used for removal of corneal scars and other partial-thickness corneal defects result in improved vision in patients receiving these procedures.

Conditions: Corneal Opacity
Phase: Not Applicable

S0820, Adenoma and Second Primary Prevention Trial

NCT01349881

The investigators hypothesize that the combination of eflornithine and sulindac will be effective in reducing a three-year event rate of adenomas and second primary colorectal cancers in patients previously treated for Stages 0 through III colon or rectal cancer.

Conditions: Colorectal Neoplasms

Phase 3 Study of ProstAtak® Immunotherapy With Standard Radiation Therapy for Localized Prostate Cancer

NCT01436968

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of ProstAtak® immunotherapy in combination with radiation therapy for patients with intermediate-high risk localized prostate cancer. ProstAtak kills tumor cells and stimulates a cancer vaccine effect. Killing tumor cells in an immune stimulatory environment induces the body's immune system to detect and destroy cancer cells. ProstAtak has shown synergy with radiation without added toxicity and lower than expected recurrence rates in pre ...

Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Biomarkers for Muscular Dystrophy

NCT01484678

The purpose of this research study is to determine the potential of magnetic resonance imaging, spectroscopy, and whole body imaging to monitor disease progression and to serve as an objective outcome measure for clinical trials in Muscular Dystrophy (MD). The investigators will compare the muscles of ambulatory or non-ambulatory boys/men with DMD with muscles of healthy individuals of the same age and monitor disease progression in those with DMD over a 5-10 year period. The amount of muscle d ...
