MammaPrint, BluePrint, and Full-genome Data Linked With Clinical Data to Evaluate New Gene EXpression Profiles
Recruiting
The FLEX Registry will be implemented to operate as a large-scale, population based, prospective registry. All patients with stage I to III breast cancer who receive MammaPrint® and BluePrint testing on a primary breast tumor are eligible for entry into the FLEX Registry, which is intended to enable additional study arms at low incremental effort and cost. FLEX Registry will utilize an adaptive design, where additional targeted substudies and arms can be added after the initial study is opened.

Evaluation of a Brief Computerized and Smart Phone-based Intervention for Stress in Regular Cannabis Users
Recruiting
The prevalence of daily cannabis use and Cannabis Use Disorder (CUD) has increased in the United States over the past two decades. Brief, computerized harm reduction interventions that target specific high-risk CUD populations could be an efficient approach to reducing CUD. Distress intolerance , which refers to the tendency to negatively appraise and escape aversive emotional states, is a risk factor associated with stress-related cannabis use motivation and CUD severity/chronicity. Thus, a bri... Read More

Improving Primary Care Access to Urinary Incontinence Treatment for Women Veterans
Recruiting
The PURSUIT project aims to improve access to evidence-based nonsurgical UI treatment for women Veterans in the Southeast region of the United States using the most effective remote delivery modality. Using cluster randomization, the study will compare two models at the practice level: (1) the use of a practice facilitation toolkit with a mHealth UI modality alone and (2) the practice facilitation toolkit with a mHealth UI model combined with education on clinical pathways for consultation. Pati... Read More

Parathyroid Allotransplantation in Medically Refractory Hypoparathyroidism
Recruiting
Options for treatment of severe, refractory hypocalcemia are limited for the thousands of patients in the United States who suffer from hypoparathyroidism. Parathyroid allotransplantation is an emerging treatment that provides hope for these individuals. Currently, this therapy has only been successfully provided by a few centers in the world. In the UAB PATH trial, we propose to become one of the few centers worldwide to successfully achieve parathyroid allotransplantation in transplant-naïve p... Read More

Quadriceps Tendon Versus Bone Patellar Tendon Bone Autograft ACL Reconstruction RCT
Recruiting
The choice of autograft for ACL reconstruction continues to be debated. To date, there has only be one completed randomized controlled trial with quad tendon to BTB and the tendon included a bone plug. There has been no study to date comparing an all soft tissue quad tendon to patellar tendon in a randomized controlled trial for ACL reconstruction.

VIGOR: Virtual Genome Center for Infant Health
Recruiting
This study will provide rigorous evaluation of implementing a virtual genome center into community clinical settings without highly specialized resources, thereby offering generalizable insights as to how best to implement genomic medicine at scale and for other age groups. This intervention has great potential to address disparities in genomic medicine among low-income and underrepresented minority (URM) populations and will enhance capacity for providers and health systems to utilize highly sp... The Nuestros Días ("Our Days") Study
Recruiting
The goal of this observational study is to understand how contextual, individual-level, and cultural factors influence the daily and long-term well-being of caregivers of relatives with memory problems or dementia. The study focuses on caregivers from the Hispanic and Latino community. The main questions it aims to answer are: * What daily factors increase (i.e., risk factors) or decrease (i.e., protective factors) the daily odds of depression and anxiety symptoms reported by caregivers? * How... HCRN Endoscopic Versus Shunt Treatment of Hydrocephalus in Infants
Recruiting
Hydrocephalus is a potentially debilitating neurological condition that primarily affects babies under a year of age and has traditionally been treated by inserting a shunt between the brain and the abdomen. A newer endoscopic procedure offers hope of shunt- free treatment that may reduce complications over a child's life, but it is not clear if the endoscopic procedure results in similar intellectual outcome as shunt. Therefore, the investigators propose a randomized trial to compare intellectu... Read More

Doxycycline for Emphysema in People Living With HIV (The DEPTH Trial)
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to determine if doxycycline will reduce progression of emphysema in people living with HIV. The secondary objectives are to examine the effects of doxycycline on change in quantity of emphysema, six minute walk distance, patient reported outcomes, ratio of forced expiratory volume in 1 second and forced vital capacity. Secondary objectives will also describe the safety and tolerability of doxycycline and determine if doxycycline is associated with development of ant... Read More
