The COVID-19 pandemic puts individuals recovering from opioid use disorders (OUDs), an already vulnerable population, at increased risk of overdose due to decreased access to treatment, decreased social support, and increased psychosocial stress. This proposal will test the efficacy of a promising mobile app-based peer support program, compared to usual care, in increasing recovery capital, improving retention in treatment, and reducing psychosocial adverse effects, among a national sample of people in recovery from OUD. If effective, it would provide an accessible, personalized, and scalable approach to OUD recovery increasingly needed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Read Less

This phase II trial studies the effect of capecitabine and temozolomide after surgery in treating patients with high-risk well-differentiated pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. Chemotherapy drugs, such as capecitabine and temozolomide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving capecitabine and temozolomide after surgery could prevent or delay the return of cancer in patients with high-risk well-differentiated pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. Read Less

The goal of this clinical trial is to develop and evaluate the preliminary efficacy of an intervention to address reducing alcohol use, sexual revictimization, and psychological distress among bisexual+ women (i.e., attraction to more than one gender: bisexual, pansexual, queer). The main questions the study seeks to answer are: 1) what is the feasibility of the recruitment method, research design, interventionist training methods, and delivery of the intervention; 2) does the intervention, relative to control, at the 2- and 4-month follow-up period, produce reductions in the quantity and frequency of alcohol use, sexual victimization, and psychological distress (anxiety, depression). This is a one-year study that seeks to evaluate perspectives of combined injectable treatment for HIV and OUD. Specifically, with the development of new long-acting medications such as cabotegravir co-administered with rilpivirine (CAB/RPV) and extended-release buprenorphine (XR-B) there is a need to better understand factors that influence the delivery and uptake of this type of treatment. Therefore, this study will conduct qualitative (1:1) interviews with 32-45 key stakeholders to assess interest, knowledge, attitudes, barriers, and facilitators to integrated injectable treatment. The study is about helping teens who are involved in the court system to cut down or quit using marijuana. Teens may be asked to test out an experimental smartphone app, called TECH, that will be used only by teens in this study. This app is a private online community where teens can work towards changing their substance use and other behavior with the help of other anonymous teens. We will use this information to learn how the app may help teens make a change and to improve the TECH app. Read Less

This study originally included 100 subjects with medication-refractory depression undergoing 10 Hz transcranial magnetic stimulation (10Hz-TMS) to the left dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), with the goal of having 60 completers with good quality data. Subjects were recruited from the TMS clinics at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham & Women's Hospital, and Butler Hospital. Subjects underwent an hour-long MRI scanning session, an optional DNA-sample collection, up to three 20 minute neuronavigation sessions for marking the site of TMS stimulation, questionnaires, and a behavioral testing battery before and after their TMS treatment course. The task battery included the Emotion Conflict Resolution (ECR) task, Multi-Source Interference Task (MSIT), War Game (Gambling) task, and Associative Learning with Reversal task. Subjects' scores on the Quick Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology (QIDS) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) were assessed before and after the TMS course. MRI data was utilized to identify brain regions whose connectivity to the stimulation site co-varies with the aforementioned measures of symptom improvement. This was the only study group until August 30, 2022, and the primary outcome was analyzed for the 10Hz-TMS group. Due to changes in clinical standard of care from 10Hz-TMS to a newer version of TMS termed intermittent theta burst (iTBS), in September 2022 a second group was added to include patients receiving this new form of TMS. This second group included another 100 patients with medication-refractory depression undergoing iTBS to the left dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), with the intent to have 80 completers. Massachusetts General Hospital was added as a data collection site in lieu of Butler Hospital. Subjects will undergo an hour-long MRI scanning session, up to three 20 minute neuronavigation sessions for marking the site of TMS stimulation, questionnaires, and a behavioral testing battery before and after their TMS treatment course. The task battery will included the Emotion Conflict Resolution (ECR) task, Multi-Source Interference Task (MSIT), Penn Emotion Recognition Test, the Suicide/Death Implicit Association Test, and Associative Learning with Reversal task. Subjects' scores on the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) were assessed before and after the TMS course. This Phase 1a/1b study will evaluate the safety, tolerability and the pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) of KT-333 in Adult patients with Relapsed or Refractory (R/R) Lymphomas, Large Granular Lymphocytic Leukemia (LGL-L), T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia (T-PLL), and Solid Tumors. The Phase 1a stage of the study will explore escalating doses of single-agent KT-333. The goal of this clinical trial is to compare treatment outcomes between an oral medication (beta agonist) versus onabotulinumtoxinA injections in women with urgency urinary incontinence (UUI). Participants will be randomly selected to receive one of the two treatments. The primary outcome measure will be at 3 months, and women will be followed for a total of 12 months. The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed healthcare delivery; arguably, the fields of obstetrics and pediatrics have experienced some of the greatest changes as they have transitioned away from their role as a medical home and into more of an urgent care model of care. Baby2Home is a digital health intervention designed to bridge the resultant gaps in obstetrics and pediatrics healthcare services for new families over the first year of life. This randomized controlled trial will evaluate whether, compared to usual care, Baby2Home 1) improves maternal, paternal, and infant health service utilization outcomes over the first year postpartum, 2) improves maternal and paternal patient reported outcomes, and 3) reduces racial/ethnic and income-based disparities in preventive health services utilization and parental patient reported outcomes.
