This study will fill important knowledge gaps in the availability of best practices that use innovative methods to integrate the cognitive and vocational needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who will be transitioning from 2- and 4-year postsecondary education to employment. Best practices exist from the assistive technology (AT) field to help people compensate for cognitive impairments, and from the vocational rehabilitation (VR) field to enhance employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities. However, these practices have not been integrated to provide needed supports and services to improve the employment outcomes of students with ASD. The study's goal is to expand the availability of innovative practices by testing the efficacy of a technology-driven, long-term, and resource-rich individualized support program that merges assistive technology for cognition and vocational rehabilitation practices. The end products will include technology application guidelines, training and procedural manuals, and resource information that rehabilitation professionals and students with ADS can utilize to enhance technology and mentoring proficiency, academic success, self-determination, and long-term career success for students with ASD. The knowledge to be gained from this research will have a beneficial impact on students with ASD, rehabilitation professionals, higher education personnel, case managers, and employers who work with people with ASD. There is strong potential for the students to develop skills that will help them succeed in learning as well as employment settings. The ultimate benefit of research activities for the target population will be seen in the improved capacity for postsecondary students with ADS to utilize state-of-the-art technology to accommodate disability-related limitations, address career readiness, and to prepare for and obtain employment after graduation. Because the risks to subjects are no greater than those associated with everyday life and because the study staff will refer students who are in psychological distress or medical emergency situations to appropriate resources in the community, the minimal risks of this study justify the considerable benefits that this study will yield. OSA is commonly diagnosed with either attended in-lab polysomnography (PSG) or unattended home sleep apnea testing (HSAT). The BLS-100 (Belun Technology Company Limited, Hong Kong) is a novel neural network-based HSAT platform consists of a ring shape pulse oximeter sensor, a cradle, and an improved proprietary analytic algorithm. PURSUIT: Prospective US Radiofrequency SUI Trial (VI-17-06) is a prospective, randomized, sham controlled, double blind study in premenopausal women with stress urinary incontinence. The study will be conducted in 390 subjects, randomized 2:1 with active or sham treatment. Study duration is 12 months post treatment. The primary objective is to evaluate the efficacy of the Viveve treatment, SUI protocol, in improving mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence (SUI), assessed using the 1-hour Pad Weight Test for up to 12 months post-treatment. The purpose of this study is to determine the clinical efficacy of a novel sustained dynamic compression intramedullary nail for tibiotalocalcaneal (TTC) arthrodesis utilizing longitudinal weight-bearing computed tomographic imaging. Of particular focus will be assessment of compressive element recovery and its relation to fusion development over time and weight-bearing status. Additionally, the study will incorporate longitudinal fusion assessment to evaluate differences between three-dimensional weight-bearing computed tomography (WBCT) scans and two-dimensional radiographs (X-rays) at multiple points of the fusion process. This study will examine the effect of providing nurses with continuous, remote, real-time monitoring of their patient's vital signs and MEWS scores using the BAS on the occurrence of adverse events, admissions to the ICU, hospital length of stay and activation of the rapid response team among patients on non-intensive care hospital units. A longitudinal study will measure the outcome variables among an estimated 60 patients per month during 6 month intervals when the BAS is not and is available to the nursing staff. Read Less

To address the unmet need of optimizing the treatment and management for adolescent suicidality, the investigators propose to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of telehealth services compared to inpatient and OCIC for suicidal adolescents in target population. To achieve this goal, the investigators propose a multi- site study to compare telehealth, OCIC, and inpatient care, and see which can lead to a lower risk of a suicidal event (primary outcome) as well as higher treatment satisfaction (TS) and satisfaction with life (SL) (secondary outcomes) of both the legal guardians/parents and patients. This study gathers information on patients at different stages of chronic pancreatitis to better understand the natural course and risk factors associated with pancreatitis. Chronic pancreatitis is a disease that occurs when the pancreas is inflamed (swollen and irritated) all of the time. It is important for doctors to diagnose chronic pancreatitis in the beginning stages of the disease. Over time, as chronic pancreatitis gets worse, the pancreas may stop working correctly. Since treatment options for advanced (end-stage) chronic pancreatitis are limited, patients with early-stage chronic pancreatitis or those at high risk of developing chronic pancreatitis are ideally suited for interventions to prevent the development of end-stage chronic pancreatitis and its associated complications. Information from this study may help researchers to develop lab tests for early diagnosis and prediction of disease progression, to understand disease mechanisms, and to discover genetic factors affecting susceptibility and progression. Our goal is to understand the critical factors associated with outcome acceptance following upper limb loss. We aim to develop a unified theoretical model that describes the psychosocial experience of upper limb prosthesis use and predicts outcome acceptance following upper limb loss. This conceptual framework will enable clinicians and researchers to evaluate and predict patient outcomes following limb loss, and to design interventions that improve outcomes. The proposed two-year study is a mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative) study using an observational design. The qualitative component of the study will involve data collection through telephone interviews with 18 participants and analyses using a grounded theory approach with constant comparison methods. The quantitative component involves administration of standardized measures quantifying constructs of the theoretical model in 120 participants and analyses to produce a structural equation model of outcome acceptance. This study is designed to determine the safety and efficacy of two calcineurin inhibitor free treatment groups 1) a belatacept, everolimus and early corticosteroid withdrawal (ECSWD) immunosuppressive regimen with rabbit antithymocyte globulin induction (rATG) and 2) a belatacept, mycophenolate, chronic steroid regimen with rATG and compare to historical controls of tacrolimus-based and belatacept-based regimens in combination with rATG induction, mycophenolate, and ESWD in renal transplant recipients. The purpose is to evaluate the effect of 2 regimens (rATG induction/belatacept/everolimus/ESWD and rATG induction/belatacept/mycophenolate/CS) on the composite of patient death, graft loss, or eGFR (MDRD) < 45 mL/min/1.73m2 at Month 12 post-transplantation compared to historical controls of the BEST Trial (groups B and C).
