The purpose of this study is to determine whether a sensor device called an Automatic Ingestion Monitor (AIM) that is worn on eyeglasses can be used with a smartphone to change eating behavior. Participants will wear the device for one week of no-intervention observation. They will then test behavioral interventions focused on eating for two weeks. The researchers hypothesize that messages sent to a smartphone that are based on information from the AIM can reduce the amount of food that is eaten and slow eating. Read Less

We will randomly assign (blocked on Gender (female, male, other), body mass index (BMI; overweight \[25 \< BMI \< 30\]) or obese (30 \< BMI \<40) and pain status (chronic pain vs not)) adults ages 50-64 into either; (a) self-selected intensity (i.e., SELF-PACED) or (b) prescribed moderate intensity (i.e., PRESCRIBED) conditions. Prior to randomization, persons responding to our ads will participate in the following: (1) telephone screening with the study research assistant (RA) to establish eligibility; (2) an orientation session to obtain more information about the study; and, after providing informed consent (3) baseline assessment and screening (bodyweight, maximal fitness test, dietary intake, and questionnaires to assess potential covariates). Prior to randomization, the RA will give participants an accelerometer to assess baseline physical activity (PA) behavior over a one-week period. Participants will then be randomized to one of the two study conditions. Following randomization, all participants will receive our theory-based PA promotion intervention to help them overcome barriers to regular PA. All participants will be given chest strap heart rate (HR) monitors and instructions on wrist palpation. Follow-up assessments will consist of accelerometry for one-week periods at months 3, 6, 9, and 12, ecological momentary assessment (EMA) throughout the 12 months and bodyweight at 3-month intervals. This study employs a repeated measures experimental design to examine the effect of THC-dominant dose of cannabis and CBD-dominant dose of cannabis, relative to placebo, on subsequent drinking in an alcohol choice task in which participants choose either to drink or receive monetary reinforcement for drinks not consumed. Cannabis will be administered simultaneously with an alcohol-priming dose or alcohol placebo. This study originally included 140 subjects with medication-refractory depression undergoing 10 Hz transcranial magnetic stimulation (10Hz-TMS) to the left dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), with the goal of having 60 completers with good quality data. Subjects were recruited from the TMS clinics at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham \& Women's Hospital, and Butler Hospital. Subjects underwent an hour-long MRI scanning session, an optional DNA-sample collection, up to three 20 minute neuronavigation sessions for marking the site of TMS stimulation, questionnaires, and a behavioral testing battery before and after their TMS treatment course. The task battery included the Emotion Conflict Resolution (ECR) task, Multi-Source Interference Task (MSIT), War Game (Gambling) task, and Associative Learning with Reversal task. Subjects' scores on the Quick Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology (QIDS) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) were assessed before and after the TMS course. MRI data was utilized to identify brain regions whose connectivity to the stimulation site co-varies with the aforementioned measures of symptom improvement. This was the only study group until August 30, 2022, and the primary outcome was analyzed for the 10Hz-TMS group. Due to changes in clinical standard of care from 10Hz-TMS to a newer version of TMS termed intermittent theta burst (iTBS), in September 2022 a second group was added to include patients receiving this new form of TMS. This second group included another 100 patients with medication-refractory depression undergoing iTBS to the left dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), with the intent to have 80 completers. Massachusetts General Hospital was added as a data collection site in lieu of Butler Hospital. Subjects will undergo an hour-long MRI scanning session, up to three 20 minute neuronavigation sessions for marking the site of TMS stimulation, questionnaires, and a behavioral testing battery before and after their TMS treatment course. The task battery will included the Emotion Conflict Resolution (ECR) task, Multi-Source Interference Task (MSIT), Penn Emotion Recognition Test, the Suicide/Death Implicit Association Test, and Associative Learning with Reversal task. This is a randomized, double-blind clinical trial of a daily oral dose of 200 mg emtricitabine vs. placebo in 35 participants with biomarker-confirmed MCI or mild to moderate dementia due to Alzheimer's disease. Study duration for each subject participating in the placebo-controlled research study will be approximately 12 months (up to a 3 months Screening Period, Baseline visit (1 month), 6 months of placebo or emtricitabine dosing, and 1 month follow-up). Modifying health behaviors like physical activity level, diet, stress, and mental activity level can lower risk for Alzheimer's disease, but many middle-aged and older adults find it difficult to sustain health behavior changes over the long term. This project will develop a new intervention that educates people about Alzheimer's disease risk factors and helps them understand how their personal health beliefs may prevent them from making long-lasting lifestyle changes. This phase III trial compares the effect of sentinel lymph node mapping to standard lymph node dissection in reducing the risk of swelling in the legs (lymphedema) in patients undergoing a hysterectomy for stage I endometrial cancer. Standard lymph node dissection removes lymph nodes around the uterus during a hysterectomy to look for spread of cancer from the uterus to nearby lymph nodes. Sentinel lymph node mapping uses a special dye and camera to look for cancer that may have spread to nearby lymph nodes. Comparing the results of the procedures may help doctors predict the risk of long-term swelling in the legs. Read Less
