There are currently 76 active clinical trials seeking participants for Diabetes research studies. The states with the highest number of trials for Autism participants are California, Texas, Florida and Pennsylvania.
A Cardiometabolic Health Program Linked With Clinical-Community Support and Mobile Health Telemonitoring to Reduce Health Disparities
Recruiting
The LINKED- HEARTS Program is a multi-level project that intervenes at the practice level by linking home blood pressure monitoring (HBPM) with a telemonitoring platform (Sphygmo). The program incorporates team-based care by including community health workers (CHWs) and pharmacists to improve the outcomes of multiple chronic conditions (reduced blood pressure (BP), lower blood sugar, and improved kidney function). The LINKED-HEARTS Program will recruit a total of 600 adults with uncontrolled hyp... Read More

Wound Assessment Using Spectral Imaging US
Recruiting
During the observational, non-interventional study, at Baseline Study Visit (BSV) subjects will be screened and consented. Eligible subjects will undergo imaging with the DeepView device. Pre- and post-debridement images will be obtained (if debridement performed per SOC), as well as reviewing medical history and physical assessments. Additional Study Visits (SVs) will be performed when patient returns to the clinic for Routine Clinic Visit for up to 12 weeks or wound closure. During these visi... Read More

Fresh Takes!: An Evaluation of the Impact of Receiving Fresh Food Boxes
Recruiting
Fresh Takes! is a targeted food distribution and nutrition education program offered by Montefiore Bronx Health Collective, a Federally Qualified Health Center located in the South Bronx. The goal of Fresh Takes! is to help reduce food insecurity and prevent progressions to overt diabetes in patients with prediabetes and to help patients with overt diabetes achieve better diabetic control. To that end, participants receive bimonthly fresh food boxes and nutritional support and education over the... Read More

Addressing Diabetes by Elevating Access to Nutrition
Recruiting
The goal of ADELANTE is to determine whether a multi-level intervention to improve household food insecurity and glycemic control is effective for Latino patients with diabetes. Specifically, ADELANTE aims to determine whether weekly household food delivery plus an intensive lifestyle intervention is more effective than usual care for improving glycemic control (HbA1c) at 6 months, examine the effects of the multi-level intervention on = household food insecurity, dietary behaviors, and psycho... Supporting Self-Management of Healthy Behaviors in Diabetes, Kidney Disease, and Hypertension
Recruiting
The planned intervention, entitled, Supporting Self-Management of Health Behaviors to Optimize Health (SMART-HABITS for Health), aims to provide support for patients with chronic kidney disease, hypertension and diabetes by providing text messages delivered as motivational reminders and support to encourage blood pressure self-monitoring through goal setting, customized task prompts via text message and feedback, leveraging social connections, and use of a gamification design.

Assessing Open Access Audio
Recruiting
The medical encounter can be overwhelming in term of the amount of information discussed, its technical nature, and the anxiety it can generate. Easy access to a secure audio recording from any internet enabled device is an available low cost technology that allows patients to "revisit the visit" either alone or sharing with caretakers and family. It has been introduced and tested outside the VA with evidence that it increases patient recall and understanding and may even improve physician perfo... Read More

Diabetes Clinical Decision Support
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of an electronic medical record clinical decision support tool on rates of dysglycemia in the hospital, and its clinical and economical outcomes. The study also evaluates the perspectives of providers regarding the tool's usefulness on disease management support, knowledge, and practice performance.

Effect of SGLT2i on Cardiovascular Biomarkers in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes and CKD Stage 3b-4
Recruiting
This is a prospective, observational study to assess the effect of SGLT2 inhibitors on surrogate markers of kidney and cardiovascular health in patients with stage 3b and 4 chronic kidney disease (CKD). This study includes three clinic in person visits and weekly telephone visits for 12 weeks. Recruit 28 patients with CKD stages 3b-4 and follow up for 12 weeks Determine the effect of interventions on the primary outcome variable serum klotho measured by immunoprecipitation-immunoblot

Food Assistance, Diabetes, and HIV
Recruiting
Diabetes prevalence is increasing among people living with HIV (PLWH), yet blood glucose control is less successful in this population who are also often food insecure. Food assistance programs often provide nutrient-poor foods. This proposal asses the feasibility of monitoring diabetes-related health outcomes among food insecure PLWH who are receiving food boxes higher in dietary protein and fiber and lower in simple carbohydrates.

Evaluating Glial Acetate Metabolism as a Biomarker of Hypoglycemic Counterregulation
Recruiting
Hypoglycemic complications are a major impediment to the maintenance of healthy glucose levels in persons with diabetes. The investigators recently completed a clinical pilot and feasibility study (GLIMPSE, NCT02690168), which identified a novel biomarker, glial acetate metabolism, that appears to predict the susceptibility to hypoglycemia. By providing an assay to predict hypoglycemic events and therefore diabetic complications, the development of this biomarker could significantly improve the... Read More

Circulating Biomarkers in the Development of Type 1 Diabetes
Recruiting
More than 100 million U.S. adults are now living with diabetes or prediabetes. Investigators still do not fully understand how diabetes develops and how the disease worsens. Insulin is a hormone that helps the body use sugar as a fuel and control blood-sugar levels. People with diabetes have problems making insulin. This is because their insulin-producing beta cells -in the pancreas-are damaged or destroyed. A biomarker is a biological molecule (such as DNA, RNA (the genetic material of cells) o... Read More

Personalized Responses to Dietary Composition Trial 3
Recruiting
The PREDICT 3 study will build on previous research in over 2,000 individuals to further refine machine learning models that predict individual responses to foods, with the aim of advancing precision nutrition science and individualized dietary advice. The study incorporates both standardized and controlled dietary intervention, for the purpose of testing postprandial responses to specific mixed meals, in addition to a free-living period with a dietary record for measuring responses to a large v...
