There are currently 42 active clinical trials seeking participants for Parkinson's Disease research studies. The states with the highest number of trials for Autism participants are Florida, California, New York and Texas.
Physiological Brain Atlas Development
Recruiting
The NIH grant has funded the development of a physiological brain atlas registry that will allow us to significantly improve the data collectioin and use of physiological data into a normalized brain volume. This initially was used to improve DBS implants for Parkinson's Disease, Dystonia, Essential Tremor, and OCD, but now includes data acquired during all stereotactic brain procedures.

An RCT of a Telemedicine Intervention for Hypokinetic Dysarthria in PD
Recruiting
Nearly 90% of people with Parkinson's disease have speech and voice disorders that negatively impact their ability to communicate effectively in daily life. This study will test the hypothesis that a combined speech and exercise intervention will improve speech intelligibility in people with Parkinson's disease and speech impairment. This approach would offer an affordable way to continue to both instruct and encourage training by Veterans virtually indefinitely through the remote access technol... Read More

Perception in Parkinson's Disease
Recruiting
The investigators plan to examine the relation of perceptual variables-basic vision, unusual perceptual experiences(including but not limited to visual hallucinations)-to relevant functional variables such as cognition, mood, and alertness/sleepiness in an online sample of persons with Parkinson's disease (PwPD). It is hypothesized that unusual perceptual experiences will relate significantly to the selected variables. Participants do not need to experience visual hallucinations to be able to pa... Read More

Imaging a Cholinergic Biomarker of Cognition in Parkinson's Disease
Recruiting
This is an imaging study designed to illuminate the function of the cholinergic system and its association with cognitive skills in people with Parkinson's disease. The hypothesis of this study is that there will be an association between cholinergic terminal density, sex hormones, and cognitive functioning. Participants will receive a PET and MRI scan along with a battery of neurocognitive tests at baseline and again at 18 months follow-up. Hormone levels will be measured at baseline.

Modifiable Variables in Parkinsonism (MVP)
Recruiting
We are trying to identify factors associated with improved quality of life and fewer PD symptoms. We are attempting to identify practices, beliefs, and therapies used by individuals who report excellent quality of life, few PD symptoms, and reduced rates of progression. After agreeing to participate, we will ask participants to fill our questionnaires about their experience with PD, their health in general, along with their food intake every six months for five years.
