Low Dose Aspirin for the Prevention of Postpartum Related Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This phase II trial tests whether low-dose aspirin can affect markers of inflammation in postpartum (after childbirth) women planning to have a breast biopsy. Chronic inflammation may increase the risk of postpartum related breast cancer. Low-dose aspirin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Giving low-dose aspirin may affect markers of inflammation in blood and tissue and may prevent postpartum related breast cancer.

A Vaccine (H2NVAC) Before Surgery for the Treatment of HER2-Expressing Ductal Carcinoma In Situ
Recruiting
This phase Ib trial studies the side effects and best dose of a vaccine called H2NVAC before surgery in treating patients with HER2 expressing ductal carcinoma in situ. H2NVAC is a vaccine designed to stimulate specialized white blood cells in hopes of increasing immune response and protecting against breast cancer.

Collecting Medical Information and Tissue Samples from Patients with Pancreatic Cancer or Other Pancreatic Disorders
Recruiting
RATIONALE: Gathering medical information and collecting and storing samples of blood and tissue to test in the laboratory may help doctors develop better ways to screen people at risk for pancreatic cancer or other pancreatic disorders in the future. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is collecting medical information and tissue samples from patients with pancreatic cancer or other pancreatic disorders.

Biomarkers of Resiliency in Childhood Cancer Surgery
Recruiting
This observational study is to better understand how children and their families recover after the stress of major surgery for cancer so that investigators can create ways to improve resilience during recovery. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Can information obtained from patients and their caregivers wearing smartwatches and answering questionnaires be used to measure how patients are recovering from surgery? 2. Are there specific patterns in patients' circulating proteins and met... Read More

MC1R-targeted Alpha-particle Monotherapy and Combination Therapy Trial With Nivolumab in Adults With Advanced Melanoma
Recruiting
In this first-in human, phase I/IIa study, the safety and efficacy of \[212Pb\]VMT01, an alpha-particle emitting therapeutic agent targeted to melanocortin sub-type 1 receptor (MC1R) is being evaluated as a monotherapy and in combination with Nivolumab in subjects with unresectable and metastatic melanoma.

Circuit-Based Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson's Disease P1A2&3 Catalyst
Recruiting
This study will help us better understand how the brain works in people with Parkinson's disease (PD). PD is a brain disease that gets worse over time, and affects over 10 million people world-wide. A common treatment for PD is Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). To improve DBS therapy for PD, we need a deeper understanding of how the different parts of the brain work together in PD, and how this relates to movement and thinking problems that people with PD experience. We may be able to use the resul... Read More

Radial Vs. State-Of-The-Art Femoral Access for Bleeding and Access Site Complication Reduction in Cardiac Catheterization (REBIRTH)
Recruiting
This is a phase IV, prospective, open label, randomized-controlled study that will compare radial access with state-of-the-art femoral access in patients without ST-segment elevation acute myocardial infarction undergoing cardiac catheterization. Subjects will be randomized 1:1 into 2 treatment groups: radial access and state-of-the-art femoral access. Randomization will be performed in blocks of 50 per site. Similarly, a second sub-randomization will be performed in the femoral access group int... Read More

The Sinonasal Cavity as a Reservoir for Upper Airway Bacterial Development
Recruiting
While the maternal-newborn exchange of airway microbiota is well-documented, no studies have examined within-subject relationships among the mouth, sinuses, nasopharynx and lungs and the relative abundance of bacterial taxa at those sites. Recent evidence suggests the oral cavity may serve as a reservoir for pathogens that translocate to non-oral locations; oral-associated microbes infect most other body sites as evidence by 16S sequencing. By using a combination of oral and throat swabs, toget... Read More

Exparel Injection for Postoperative Orbital Pain
Recruiting
After surgery to remove the eye, either by enucleation or evisceration, patients have variable levels of pain for several postoperative days. Some patients have almost no discomfort while others require significant amounts of oral narcotics and report pain of 10 out of 10 on a numerical rating scale. The current operative standard is to infiltrate the eye socket with 0.5% bupivacaine during surgery leading to several hours of postoperative analgesia. In 2011, Pacira Pharmaceuticals released a bu... Read More
