Breast Cancer Locator Guided vs. Wire Localized Partial Mastectomy for Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This prospective, multicenter, 1:1 randomized, controlled trial is designed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Breast Cancer Locator (BCL) in subjects with non-palpable invasive breast cancer or ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). Subjects will be randomized to breast conserving surgery (BCS) utilizing either the BCL or wire localization (WL) to guide surgery.

RAPID: a Comparison Study of a Novel Ultrasound Device of Automated Congenital Heart Imaging
Recruiting
The RAPID ultrasound is a portable imaging device that captures a one point image from the subcostal region of the heart. The device is set on the patient's chest and captures the image in \<1 minute. It uses ultrasound imaging energy that is similar to commercialized devices and safe for patients of all ages and sizes. The device is a non-significant risk and therefore will not require an IDE. Images from RAPID will be taken directly before or after the standard clinical PCU. Images taken fr... Read More

Ostomy Simulation for Patient Education Prior to Urologic Bowel Diversion Surgeries
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of using a realistic and anatomically accurate 3D printed simulation model for urologic bowel diversion patient education. Using a randomized two group design, we aim to determine whether the use of this model enhances patient knowledge, self-care skills, and confidence in ostomy care. We will also evaluate changes in quality of life (QOL) and patient satisfaction comparing patients exposed to the 3D model to those receiving standard of ca... Read More

Nonlinear Elasticity Mapping of Breast Masses
Recruiting
This proposed technique, called "Nonlinear Elasticity Mapping (NEM)", is an innovative approach to estimate (i.e., linear and nonlinear) elasticity to provide complementary and relevant information for identification and characterization of breast masses. The proposed technique includes imaging the (nonlinear) elasticity parameter in a quantitative manner and measuring two new and relevant parameters. These parameters, together with linear elasticity, are used to differentiate breast masses. Th... Read More

Patient Experience and Quality of Patch Testing on the Legs vs Back
Recruiting
The gold standard for the diagnosis of allergic contact dermatitis is patch testing, during which allergens are affixed to the skin underneath tape and left for multiple days. A large area of clear skin is thus required for successful testing. While the back is traditionally thought to be the ideal area for testing, the thighs may be more available or advantageous. This study seeks to randomize patients undergoing patch testing to have patches placed on the back or the thighs. The investigators... Read More
