Efineptakin Alfa and Pembrolizumab for the Treatment of Recurrent Glioblastoma
Recruiting
This phase II trial tests the safety and side effects of efineptakin alfa and pembrolizumab in treating patients with glioblastoma that has come back (recurrent). Efineptakin alfa is an immunotherapy drug that works by helping the immune system fight tumor cells. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving efineptakin alfa and pembrolizumab may ki... Read More

Safety and Tolerability of Pirfenidone in Acute Pancreatitis
Recruiting
The goal of the current pilot clinical trial is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of pirfenidone in patients with predicted moderately severe and severe acute pancreatitis. Pirfenidone is currently approved by FDA for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Now, over 5 years of data has accumulated demonstrating safety of its use in humans. The investigators' preclinical data suggest that pirfenidone is very effective in reducing the severity of acute pancreatitis in animal models.... Read More

Chemotherapy With or Without Immunotherapy for Peritoneal Mesothelioma
Recruiting
This phase II trial compares the usual treatment alone (carboplatin, pemetrexed, and bevacizumab) to using immunotherapy (atezolizumab) plus the usual treatment in treating patients with peritoneal mesothelioma. The usual treatment consists of surgery or chemotherapy. Carboplatin is in a class of medications known as platinum-containing compounds. It works in a way similar to the anticancer drug cisplatin, but may be better tolerated than cisplatin. Carboplatin works by killing, stopping or slow... Read More
