COmmunities Aligned to Reduce Concussion and Head Impact Exposure
Recruiting
Head impacts in collision sports such as football are a public health concern, as repetitive head impacts, even if a concussion is not suspected, have negative effects on brain health. This study has partnered with a community stakeholder group to create a safety program for youth football named "COmmunities Aligned to reduce Concussion and Head impact exposure (COACH)", which seeks to improve knowledge and skills of youth coaches in effective and safe practice planning and to change attitudes a... Pragmatic Use of PAIN-Advanced Dementia Scale in Emergency Departments
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to learn if the Pain in Advanced Dementia (PAINAD) scale can improve emergency pain care in persons living with dementia (PLWD). It is hypothesized that a PAINAD electronic health record (EHR) prompt that appears to emergency department (ED) staff will enable them to accurately assess pain levels and lead to better pain treatment for PLWD.

Prevalence and Predictors of Hepatic Steatosis in Persons Living With HIV
Recruiting
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a spectrum of liver conditions associated with fat accumulation that ranges from benign, non-progressive liver fat accumulation to severe liver injury, cirrhosis, and liver failure. NAFLD is the most common liver disease in US adults and the second leading cause for liver transplantation in the US. The natural history of NAFLD in the general population has been well described, with those with non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFL, or simple steatosis) destin... Read More

Supplementing L-citrulline to Overweight Late Asthma oNset Phenotypes
Recruiting
Patients with obese late onset (after childhood) asthma can have lower FeNO levels, yet be highly symptomatic and poorly responsive to inhaled steroids. This is a common asthma phenotype, particularly among females. This reduction of NO occurs through increased arginase activity and uncoupling of NO synthase (NOS), by accumulation of asymmetric di-methyl arginine (ADMA), which further lowers the L-arginine/ADMA ratio, preferentially promoting reactive oxygen species (ROS) formation and inflammat... Recombinant Factor VIIa (rFVIIa) for Hemorrhagic Stroke Trial
Recruiting
The objective of the rFVIIa for Acute Hemorrhagic Stroke Administered at Earliest Time (FASTEST) Trial is to establish the first treatment for acute spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) within a time window and subgroup of patients that is most likely to benefit. The central hypothesis is that rFVIIa, administered within 120 minutes from stroke onset with an identified subgroup of patients most likely to benefit, will improve outcomes at 180 days as measured by the Modified Rankin Score (m... Supraclavicular Bupivacaine Vs. Supraclavicular Liposomal Bupivacaine for Orthopedic Wrist Surgery
Recruiting
Orthopedic wrist procedures often cause significant postoperative pain. A supraclavicular nerve block is an effective and proven method to help reduce postoperative pain and decrease opioid use around the time of upper extremity surgery. Liposomal bupivacaine (Exparel) has been approved for use around the brachial plexus, but its analgesic efficacy has limited data. The investigators' goal is to evaluate the effectiveness of Exparel as compared to plain bupivacaine. The investigators hope to ens... Read More
