Trial of Dichloroacetate (DCA) in Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM)

Conduct a multicenter, open label Phase IIA trial of oral DCA in 40 surgical patients with recurrent GBM who have clinically indicated debulking surgery planned. No patients will be recruited at UF. Patients will be genotyped to establish safe dosing regimens and will be randomized to receive DCA (N=20) or no DCA (N=20) for one week prior to surgery. Deidentified blood and tumor tissue obtained at surgery will be assessed at UF for biochemical markers of DCA dynamics.

Novel 3D Hematological Malignancy Organoid to Study Disease Biology and Chemosensitivity

The objective of this project is to compare chemosensitivity between chemotherapy combinations in bone marrow aspirates using 3D organoid models. This is a randomized control trial testing the effect of walnut supplementation on prostate cancer progression in 50 men with biopsy confirmed prostate cancer and planning to undergo RP. Patients consented to the study will be randomly assigned to either continue their usual diets (control arm) or to the walnut arm for 4-10 weeks depending on the window between their consent date and the date for RP.

A Study in the Treatment of Mild to Moderate Dry Eye Disease Comparing Saline to TTAX03.

The purpose of this randomized, controlled, multicenter study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of TTAX03 in participants with mild to moderate DED. The primary question it aims to answer is if TTAX03 is safe. The secondary is the effectiveness. Researchers will compare 10mg of TTAX03 reconstituted in 150, 300, or 600 uL saline to the saline control group to look at effectiveness. Participants will be randomized to a treatment group one time and be evaluated at 5 different study visits.
