Central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia (CCCA) is form of scarring hair loss that predominately affects middle-aged women of African descent.1 . Clinically, the natural progression of CCCA starts at the crown as roughly circular scarred patches, which evolve into scarred areas increasing in size circumferentially. Characteristically, the scar is often smooth and shiny, and the hair density in the affected area is frequently decreased. The hair remaining in the scarred areas is more brittle and shorter than the hair in unaffected areas. Since CCCA is a scarring disorder, it can cause permanent hair loss, dyesthesias, and psychological distress which can affect overall quality of life. Affected individuals may complain of pruritus, pain, or tenderness.2 The management of CCCA is challenging due to limited current treatments and a lack of randomized controlled trails. Management focuses on behavioral and styling modifications, in addition to symptomatic relief. Any potentially damaging hair care practices such as chemical relaxers, heat application to the scalp, and the use of hardening gels and sprays are discouraged.3 Many commonly used therapies are anti-inflammatory in nature, including intralesional steroids, topical steroids, oral antibiotics and increased frequency of hair washing with antidandruff shampoos.4 These treatments not only lead to improvement in pruritus and tenderness, but in some cases result in increased hair density.5 Since there is limited investigation done to determine the most effective treatment approach for CCCA subjects, it would be of great benefit to determine if there is any advantage in using one particular anti-inflammatory therapy over others and whether one is more efficacious in relieving symptoms or promoting hair regrowth in follicles that have not yet become scarred. The Revian Red All LED cap is a dual-band LED light therapy wireless "smart" cap. It has been effective in androgenetic alopecia (used once daily, 10-minute treatment regimen) for both men and women. There are also reportedly minimal side effects, unlike with topical minoxidil which can cause pruritus and initial hair shedding in the first few weeks, or finasteride which can cause gynecomastia and loss of libido. In this study we hope to see if the anti-inflammatory capabilities of this cap can improve scalp symptoms, reduce hair loss, and promote maturation of vellus and intermediate hairs in non-scarred areas of the scalp in those affected by CCCA. The primary goal of this study is to examine whether recurrence of HPV-associated OPSCC can be predicted by two factors: 1) mutations in genes called TRAF3 and CYLD, and 2) measurements of circulating HPV DNA in blood plasma. The study will also investigate whether HPV integration is associated with TRAF3 and CYLD mutations, and whether recurrence prediction improves when looking at HPV integration along with TRAF3 and CYLD mutations. This study will be a prospective, observational study of patients who undergo endoscopic sinus surgery for cystic fibrosis-related chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). Individuals who do not undergo surgery but are treated medically for CRS will also be enrolled to serve as a control group. Outcomes analyzed will include pulmonary, quality of life, and others. The body has different ways of fighting infections and disease. No single way seems perfect for fighting cancer. This research study combines two different ways of fighting disease: antibodies and T cells. Antibodies are molecules that fight infections and protect your body from diseases caused by bacteria and toxic substances. Antibodies work by sticking to those bacteria or substances, which stops them from growing and causing bad effects. T cells are special infection-fighting blood cells that can kill other cells, including tumor cells or cells that are infected. Both antibodies and T cells have been used to treat patients with cancers. They both have shown promise, but neither alone has been enough to cure most patients. This multicenter study is designed to combine both T cells and antibodies in order to create a more effective treatment. The treatment that is being researched is called autologous T lymphocyte chimeric antigen receptor cells (CAR) cells targeted against the disialoganglioside (GD2) antigen that express Interleukin (IL)-15, and the inducible caspase 9 safety switch (iC9), also known as iC9.GD2.CAR.IL-15 T cells. This is a phase-III multi-center double-blind randomized controlled trial of 8,000 individuals undergoing a scheduled or prelabor cesarean delivery who are randomized to either adjunctive azithromycin prophylaxis or to placebo. Both groups also will receive standard of care preoperative antibiotics (excluding azithromycin). The primary endpoint is a maternal infection composite defined as any one of the following up to 6 weeks postpartum: endometritis, wound infection, abscess, septic thrombosis, sepsis, pneumonia, pyelonephritis and breast infection. The proposed research will use closed-loop transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) based on individualized brain networks to establish parameters that can reliably control brain states. This will be tested in healthy aging and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) cohorts. The investigators will study network activation and neural oscillatory mechanisms underlying the network that regulates working memory and then target this network using closed-loop TMS to the Prefrontal Cortex. Investigators will measure the impact of TMS on working memory performance and task-based neural activity. The project will use brain stimulation and network modeling techniques to enhance working memory in healthy older adults and MCI and will demonstrate the value of closed-loop, network-guided TMS for future clinical applications. The purpose of this study is to gather information about the safety and effectiveness of the non-pharmacological (non-drug), non-invasive treatment known as low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy. The study team will distribute the PEMF device to female adults with Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome (IC/BPS) to measure its ability to decrease bladder and pelvic pain as well as other urinary symptoms associated with IC/BPS. There are two sequential Aims in this study and subjects will be recruited to participate in only one Aim. In both Aims, data will be collected at baseline/enrollment, 4-weeks after using PEMF therapy, and 8, 12, and 16 weeks post-enrollment. Read Less

In this study, a chest muscle sample (biopsy) will be taken and the muscle fibers will be removed from the sample and made into smaller strands or fragments. During this same procedure, those muscle fiber fragments (MFFs) will then be injected directly into the supraspinatus muscle. Once injected, the MFFs will remain in the supraspinatus where Investigators believe the MFF will become part of the participants' existing muscle and provide increased muscle size and strength, improving function (rotator cuff strength and stability).
