This trial studies how well iohexol works in helping doctors calculate the dose of carboplatin given to patients with cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Understanding how to best calculate the dose of carboplatin given to patients with cancer may help doctors learn how to improve the use of carboplatin in the future. Read Less

This clinical trial evaluates how well two surgical procedures (bilateral salpingectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy) work in reducing the risk of ovarian cancer for individuals with BRCA1 mutations. Bilateral salpingectomy involves the surgical removal of fallopian tubes, and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy involves the surgical removal of both the fallopian tubes and ovaries. KB707-01 is a Phase 1/2, open-label, multicenter, dose escalation and expansion study. The study will evaluate the safety and tolerability of KB707 in adults with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors who have progressed on standard of care therapy, cannot tolerate standard of care therapy, refused standard of care therapy, or for whom there is no standard of care therapy as well as the safety, tolerability, preliminary efficacy, and immunologic effect of KB707 administered in combination with Opdualag to subjects with unresectable or metastatic melanoma. Subjects in dose escalation (Cohorts 1 through 3) and dose expansion (Cohort 4) will receive intratumoral injections of KB707 approximately every three weeks. Cohorts 1 through 4 are closed to new enrollment. Dose expansion Cohort 5 and Cohort 6 will evaluate subjects with advanced melanoma. Subjects in Cohort 5 will receive intratumoral injections of KB707 biweekly (q2w), delivered in combination with Opdualag (dosed every q4w per prescribing information). Subjects in Cohort 6 will receive intratumoral injections of KB707 biweekly (q2w), delivered in combination with Keytruda (dosed every q6w per prescribing information). The Sponsor is developing KB707, a replication-defective, non-integrating herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1)-derived vector that is designed to stimulate an anti-tumor immune response through the production of cytokines delivered to the airways of people with advanced solid tumor malignancies affecting the lungs via nebulization. This Phase 1/2, open-label, multicenter, dose escalation and expansion study is designed to evaluate the safety and tolerability of KB707 in adults with with advanced solid tumor malignancies affecting the lungs who have progressed on standard of care therapy, cannot tolerate standard of care therapy, or refused standard of care therapy, as well as the safety, tolerability, preliminary efficacy, and immunologic effect of KB707 administered in combination with Keytruda, with or without chemotherapy, to subjects with advanced NSCLC. The study will include a dose escalation portion for single agent KB707 using a standard 3+3 design followed by a dose expansion portion to further evaluate single agent KB707 at a dose determined by preliminary data in the dose escalation phase. Subjects in the dose escalation (Cohorts 1 and 2) and dose expansion (Cohort 4) will receive KB707 via nebulization weekly for three weeks, then every three weeks. The dose escalation portion of the study has now closed, and the Cohort 2 dose was selected for evaluation in dose expansion. Dose expansion Cohorts 5 and 6 will evaluate subjects with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Subjects in Cohorts 5 and 6 will receive inhaled KB707 per treatment day once every 2 weeks (q2w), delivered in combination with Keytruda (once every 6 weeks). The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if placing a feeding tube with a small bowel extension (called Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy With Jejunal Extension \[PEG-J\]) is better at preventing pneumonia than a standard feeding tube (called Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy \[PEG\]) in people who need long-term tube feeding. Researchers want to know if people who receive a PEG-J have fewer cases of pneumonia in the first 30 days compared to those who receive a standard PEG, and whether PEG-J tubes require more follow-up procedures to fix tube problems. Researchers will compare two different types of feeding tubes: a standard feeding tube that goes into the stomach (PEG) versus a feeding tube that extends past the stomach into the small intestine (PEG-J). This will help determine which type of feeding tube is safer and works better for patients. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either a PEG or PEG-J feeding tube through a minimally invasive procedure. They will start receiving nutrition through the tube 24 hours after placement and be monitored for 30 days to check for problems like pneumonia or tube malfunction, while receiving regular medical care from their treating doctors. The study is open to people who are 18 years or older and need a new feeding tube for long-term nutrition. People cannot take part if they have pneumonia, COVID-19, an existing feeding tube, previous stomach surgery, gastroparesis (a condition affecting stomach movement), digestive system blockage, are pregnant, or are in prison.
