This study compares 2 medicines for type 2 diabetes: semaglutide (new medicine) and a dummy medicine (placebo). Semaglutide will be tested to see how well it works compared to the dummy medicine. The study will also test if semaglutide is safe in children and teenagers. Participants will either get semaglutide or the dummy medicine - which one is decided by chance. Participants will take 1 tablet of the study medicine every morning on an empty stomach. They have to wait 30 minutes before they eat, drink or take any other medication by mouth. The study will last for about 1 year and 3 months (66 weeks). Participants will have 12 clinic visits and 8 phone calls with the study doctor. The Revita® system is being investigated to assess the efficacy of DMR versus Sham on improvement in Glycemic, Hepatic and Cardiovascular endpoints for patients with Type 2 Diabetes who are inadequately controlled with insulin therapy. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of the Fractyl DMR Procedure using the Revita® System compared to a sham. Subjects randomized to the DMR procedure will be followed per protocol till 48 weeks post treatment. Subjects in the Sham treatment arm will be offered cross over to receive the DMR treatment at 48 weeks and will be followed per protocol for 48 weeks post treatment. Read Less

This study is open to adults who are at least 18 years old and have a body mass index of 27 kg/m² or more. People can take part if they have type 2 diabetes and if they are currently being treated only with diet and exercise or with specific diabetes medications. Only people who have previously not managed to lose weight by changing their diet can participate. The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called survodutide (BI 456906) helps people living with overweight or obesity who also have diabetes to lose weight. Participants are divided into 3 groups by chance, like drawing names from a hat. 2 groups get different doses of survodutide and 1 group gets placebo. Placebo looks like survodutide but does not contain any medicine. Every participant has a 2 in 3 chance of getting survodutide. Participants inject survodutide or placebo under their skin once a week for about one and a half years. In addition to the study medicine, all participants receive counselling to make changes to their diet and to exercise regularly. Participants are in the study for about 1 year and 7 months. During this time, it is planned that participants visit the study site up to 14 times and receive 6 phone calls by the site staff. The doctors check participants' health and take note of any unwanted effects. The study staff also regularly measure participants' body weight. The main purpose of this study is to determine safety and efficacy of orforglipron compared with insulin glargine in participants with type 2 diabetes and obesity or overweight at increased cardiovascular risk. The study will last approximately 2 years may include up to 27 visits. Read Less

This study will look at the benefit of decreasing food insecurity and improving glucose control among women who either report gestational diabetes (GDM) at 20-28-weeks or have type 2 diabetes (T2DM) with a confirmed pregnancy. Participants will receive a grocery prescription with delivery through Instacart at the start of the study or after 12 weeks or frozen medically tailored meals delivered from Door Dash. Researchers will compare the grocery prescription program, MTM (medically tailored meals), relative to standard of care to see if the impact on these food as medicine programs can improve glucose control over 12-weeks as compared to standard of care. This study seeks to establish the efficacy of identifying weight loss nonresponders early in a Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) intervention in 20 community settings (primarily churches and community centers) and providing them with individual-level, enhanced treatment through telephone contacts and access to additional resources. Additionally, potential mediators and moderators of the relationship between intervention status and weight loss response at 6 months in both nonresponders and responders will be examined and a cost-effectiveness analysis to evaluate the cost of the intervention will be conducted. This study addresses key gaps in the literature about the weight loss effects of identifying nonresponders early and characterizing individuals who need more intense personalized strategies. The investigators hypothesize that changes between baseline and 3 months will be more pronounced among the nonresponders in the intervention group compared to the nonresponders in the active control group. The purpose of this research study is to evaluate if different Enterra™ device programming methods active during sleeping hours can maintain gastroparesis-related symptom relief and quality of life measures. Participants in this study with existing Enterra™ devices will be randomly assigned to one of three programming methods that will be active during sleep. Participants will answer daily questions about their gastroparesis symptoms on an application with their phone/tablet. Participants will answer quality of life questionnaires about their gastroparesis symptoms at study visits. Participants will be involved in the study for up to six months after treatment assignment.
