The goal of this clinical trial is to assess whether integrating an enhanced Surgical Operating Room (OR) curriculum into the medical student program improves knowledge and proficiency in gynecologic surgical techniques and procedures among medical students at Wayne State University. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does the Surgical Operating Room Enrichment Course increase medical students' knowledge and comfort with gynecologic surgical procedures? Does participation in the course improve students' clinical perceptions and management of gynecologic emergencies? Researchers will compare students who participate in the Surgical Operating Room Enrichment Course (intervention group) to those who complete the standard rotation (control group) to see if the enhanced curriculum leads to greater improvements in knowledge and clinical skills. Participants will: Attend virtual didactic lectures covering gynecologic anatomy, perioperative care, surgical techniques, and management of gynecologic emergencies Complete pre- and post-training surveys assessing knowledge, skills, and perceptions related to gynecologic surgery This study involves approximately 60 medical students, with participation being voluntary and all responses de-identified. This study seeks to understand emotion regulation in those with anxiety using real-time functional magnetic resonance imaging neurofeedback, a tool that allows individuals to control brain activity. The goal of this project is to understand how receiving feedback about one's own brain activity relates to emotion regulation ability. This work will help the study team understand the brain areas involved in emotion regulation and could lay the groundwork to test if psychotherapy outcomes can be enhanced using neurofeedback. The study hypotheses include: * Participants receiving veritable-Neurofeedback (NF) will show a greater activation increase in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) compared to sham-NF * Participants receiving veritable-NF will show greater cognitive reappraisal (CR) ability compared to those receiving sham-NF * Prefrontal cortex activation will positively correlate with CR ability Read Less

The purpose of this study is to learn whether PYLARIFY PET imaging (study scan) can safely and accurately detect the presence or absence of prostate cancer growing beyond the prostate gland in men with favorable intermediate risk prostate cancer. Participants will receive a single dose of PYLARIFY injection followed by a single whole-body PET/CT or PET/MRI scan acquired at 1 to 2 hours after PYLARIFY injection. Participants with positive study scan results that are suspicious for prostate cancer outside of the prostate gland may be asked to undergo additional diagnostic test(s) and/or recommend certain treatment(s) for prostate cancer within 2 to 90 days after the study scan. Participants will be monitored for up to 12 months to collecting information about treatment they receive for prostate cancer and results of regular PSA blood draws if ordered by doctors for up to 12 months after the study scan. Cancer is a condition where cells in a specific part of body grow and reproduce uncontrollably. The purpose of this study is to assess safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and preliminary efficacy of ABBV-706 as a monotherapy and in combination with budigalimab, carboplatin, or cisplatin. ABBV-706 is an investigational drug being developed for the treatment of small cell lung cancer (SCLC), high-grade central nervous system (CNS) tumors and high-grade neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs). There are multiple treatment arms in this study. Participants will either receive ABBV-706 as a single agent or in combination with budigalimab (another investigational drug), carboplatin or cisplatin at different doses. Approximately 350 adult participants will be enrolled in the study across sites worldwide. In part 1 (dose escalation), ABBV-706 will be intravenously infused in escalating doses as a monotherapy until the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) is determined in participants with SCLC, high-grade CNS tumors, and high-grade NECs. In part 2, multiple doses will be selected from Part 1 and SCLC participants will be assigned to one of these doses in a randomized fashion to determine the recommended Phase 2 dose. In Part 3a, participants with SCLC or NECs will receive ABBV-706 in combination with budigalimab intravenously every 3 weeks. In Part 3b participants with SCLC or NECs will receive ABBV-706 in combination with either carboplatin or cisplatin intravenously. In Part 4a, participants with CNS tumors will receive ABBV-706 intravenously at a dose determined from Part 1. In Part 4b, participants with NECs will receive ABBV-706 intravenously at a dose selected from Part 1. The estimated duration of the study is up to 3 years. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Hysteroscopy (an exam to look inside the uterus) is one of the most frequently performed procedures for patients with cervical or uterine disorders. It is the gold standard for evaluating various intrauterine problems, pre-menopausal and post-menopausal abnormal uterine bleeding, as well as being a vital examination modality for infertility work-up. Although hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure, it is still known to be a painful experience that requires effective analgesia (meaning pain reduction) to achieve maximum patient comfort and cooperation. Historically, opioids, particularly fentanyl, have held precedence as the primary agents for providing analgesia following surgery of this type. However, despite their efficacy, these agents come with notable drawbacks, including the potential for serious side effects such as respiratory depression, addiction, and postoperative nausea and vomiting. Both magnesium and ketamine are routinely used to reduce pain following this procedure. Both drugs work on the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor in the brain to reduce pain, and magnesium has an additional effect in that it can relax smooth muscles. Magnesium has been used successfully to reduce the pain associated with menstrual cramps, which is similar to the pain patients experience after hysteroscopy. A recent study demonstrated the benefits of adding intravenous magnesium with routine anesthesia during hysteroscopy, revealing a significant decrease in postoperative pain and rescue analgesics. However, this study did not compare the effects of magnesium to ketamine, nor did they characterize the nature of the patients' pain. It is unclear if the pain reduction with magnesium comes from its effect on the NMDA receptor or from it's cramp-reduction effect. We seek to establish whether administering IV magnesium, compared to ketamine, can specifically mitigate uterine cramping pain and total opioid consumption in hopes of finding additional safe and effective pain modalities for patients. This is a prospective, randomized trial enrolling participants undergoing an elective hysteroscopy or Dilation and Curettage (D\&C) at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak. Participants will be randomized to 1 of 3 treatments: Intravenous (IV) Magnesium, IV Push Ketamine, or Placebo. Opioid consumption is recorded via the electronic medical record (EMR), while overall pain and cramping pain will be captured post-procedure in the hospital and 24 hours later via a phone call. The goal of this clinical trial is to learn how to optimize vancomycin dosing in obese adults based on weight and kidney function. It will also assess the safety of different vancomycin dosing strategies. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does dosing vancomycin based on kidney function provide better drug exposure than dosing based on weight? What medical or safety issues arise when vancomycin is dosed according to weight versus kidney function? Participants will be randomized into two groups. One group will receive vancomycin doses based on their weight, while the other will receive doses based on their kidney function. Participants will: Receive a single dose of vancomycin based on either their weight or kidney function after pretreatment with antihistamines Provide blood and urine samples at specific times for pharmacokinetic analysis Undergo body composition measurements using DEXA scans and other methods Visit the clinic for physical exams, medical history, and laboratory tests Read Less

Study STX-478-101 is a multipart, open-label, phase 1/2 study evaluating the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), and preliminary antitumor activity of STX-478 (LY4064809) in participants with advanced solid tumors with P13Ka mutations. Part 1 will evaluate STX-478 as monotherapy in participants with advanced solid tumors. Part 2 will evaluate STX-478 therapy as combination therapy with fulvestrant in participants with hormone receptor positive (HR+) breast cancer. Part 3 will evaluate STX-478 as combination therapy with endocrine therapy (aromatase inhibitors, fulvestrant or imlunestrant) and a CDK4/6 Inhibitor (either Ribociclib, Palbociclib or Abemaciclib) in participants with HR+ breast cancer.
